Their £7.50 tariff looks very good value: 2GB + 1000 minutes + unlimited texts.

If you are thinking of taking up this deal and want to port your old telephone number you might want to take a look at the PlusNet forums first. Lots of people reporting problems porting numbers.

LOTS of issues reported with PN mobile; it is only good value if it works, which for a number of people it doesnt 50% of the time.

A large number of the people on the phone company PN took over to create the service have jumped ship because the service became unusable, and customer service vanished.

it took them 3 days to port my number and though slow they did have 48000 people signing up over those days so I'm not too bothered.

Hi Cavegirl 12 -

Not so easy for us - phone calls to them for 9 consecutive days - email to CEO, complaints departments etc. They refused to admit they had a problem. Very poor customer service in our experience.

Just to balance the negatives......

as a home BB customer with them I got the mates rates sim (unlimited text, unlimited calls & 4gb internet) for £10 a month. The automatic port service didn't work, called direct and it took 48 hours to port across. Call quality is so much better compared to my previous O2 sim, and the customer service I have received from them has always been excellent for the broadband hence why I switched my mobile to them. Cant fault the service so far.

Plusnet broadband user...excellent, so I took the mobile offer....awful, porting the number over so slow, after two days I gave up on them. Cancelled under 15 day cooling off period, which itself was a nightmare to sort. Repeated phone calls, all sorted now and no issues with Talkmobile at all, stronger signal as well. Just be wary on joining Plusnet mobile

Go for this deal for £5 with 1GB data instead of 500mb

I've been with life for over 6 months without issue, in the last few weeks texts having been taking ages to received and to be sent, seems to lose connection to network quite a bit, close to binning them
#13
the porting took longer than I expected, however as a plus.net customer I got the double data deal, £5 bargain sim 1GB data, 250 minutes and 5k texts, cheaper than my last tesco deal and no need to use the xtras app to save £3, which really drove me mad.

If you can put up with the rubbish customer service it's ok

I have recently signed up myself, my son and Dad. All have had numbers ported in with no problems. I spoke with their UK customer service people who were excellent. Highly recommended.

The virgin deal is better

After my last comment, I rang customer service about my completed but delayed port and they offered me a bolt on or money off next bill, ended up with 50% off next bill, might only be £2.50 but I am not complaining. Been with plusnet for 11 years and very rare to get a poor customer service representative.

My misses loving her plusnet! I've ported over my number from talktalk as contract at an end and i have the £1 month sim! Bargain not ported over yet but let you know how it goes!

+1 for plusnet, though my number porting took 3 days rather than 2, the nice folks at plusnet have given me 1 months free credit. Which is very nice as I didn't even complain, as I knew they were really busy with new customers signing up.

Me too. Couldn't be bothered complaining but got a free month. Port did take a week or so and was starting to worry but gone through fine now.

Agreed, this is a very good deal. Deserves more heat IMO.

What is even better is EE will price match this (2Gb, UL mins, Ul SMS) for £7.49 if asked, assuming you are out of contract with them (don't know if this will work for new customers).

Personally I moved off my TMobile SIMO contract (750Mb, 500mins, UL SMS £8.50/month) to this.

However note, this Plusnet deal ends Tuesday midnight, as will EE price matching.
