just browsing eBay and came across this unlocking service for £1.48 thought it was a bargain!! since networks charge you around £15 and have to wait for a week to get the code where as this takes around 5mins to 24hrs!

from the comments below it seems this deal is only hot for the HTC One devices because there is no S-off yet so you cant get it unlocked for free yet. or if you dont wanna root your device.

please dont vote cold if you have a desire since i mainly posted it for the One x. cant get s-off yet.

if you have a contract with o2 or Vodafone they will unlock your phone for free usually takes from 24hrs to a week for your provider to confirm your handset is being used in their network and provide you the code.

Vodafone unlock form http://campaigns.vodafone.co.uk/UnlockCodeRequestForm/ (thanks @nossa)

other networks charge you between £15-£20

a few devices they can unlock TITAN 2 II VIVID RAIDER ONE X VIVID ARIA MERGE RHYME EXPLORER AMAZE

seems like i am getting a lot of hate for this because for some reason some people think i am selling the codes when i am Not! so quite hating! if you don't like it then dont bother buying it simple i'm not getting anything of it. so whatever. its my first post be nice!

What a shocking One X you have. Mine came on contact unlocked out of the box! Your probs just chatting shiz and all the new people getting One X's to buy codes off you. Its surprising how many just get their phone unlocked without testing or looking on XDA. You would be amazed how many people actually do!

Guys seriously I'm not selling codes I found this when browsing ebay.

Secondly if you get your phone direct from a network its usually sim locked.

Lastly reason why I never posted a deal is because every time I come across one someone already posted it.

I can confirm this is genuine. I actually got the link on one of the HTC One X deals here http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/htc-one-x-white-25pm-2000-mins-5000-text-ayce-data-free-ipod-shuffle-40-40-tcb-affordable-1185924?page=24
There is NO way to unlock HTC One X for free, yet. S-off has still not been achieved. And I don't understand why some people behave like this on this site. Accusing the OP for no reason, damn. Anyways I got my code yesterday within 30 mins; by text as well

HUKD would care. Self promotion isn't allowed.

Is it safe to give some random your IMEI? Got a 2 yr contract with vodafone so don't really need it (yet), but may unlock it for a piddling £1.44. Crystal ball time - is it likely there will be a free method within the next 2 years?

Heat added though, its a good tenner cheaper than anything else I've seen (for the One X )

heat as even if you can find an unlock code by searching £1.44 is a good price to save some time and effort. Would be nice if people were also a little less suspicious on here, it can really put people off posting deals.

Great deal for the people like me and the OP who bought from affordable mobiles and got a 3 branded One X. I would have paid the £15+ that 3 charge for unlocking so saved me some money and many others I would think...

Not everybody knows about the XDA forums either.

Well as I got my HTC unlocked I cannot verify or recommend any site, but a quick search brought this site up. http://www.freeunlocks.com/ Perhaps someone would like to be a guinea pig and report back

People say useless things they don't know and never read. Care to give us the Link where you can do it yourself? Don't just say rubbish. "LOADS OF TOOLS" eh? We don't even have one yet for HTC One X like I said earlier.

Can't believe how stupid a comment this is, free is fine but it's clearly false economy spending hours (or however long it takes you to unlock) trying to do it for free when you could just pay £1.44 and not have the hassle including the potential of bricking your phone and/or voiding your warranty. For £1.44 yes, I'd rather have a legitimate code that unlocks my phone and doesn't require tampering with the bootloader.

Even if you could unlock this phone in as little as 20 minutes for free that would assume you're happy to work at a rate of £4.32/hr which I'm certainly not.

Didn't unlock my friends despite saying "Unlock successful" but I do believe we used one for around £1.25

Some phones have public 'exploits' that allow you to do it yourself but many don't. The Desire just happens to be one that does.

I used the same ebay seller when i got my One X from affordable mobiles. Got my unlock code in less than 5 mins and worked perfect This seller was mentioned in that hotukdeals thread by a person who had already used them.

The OP has basic copied that info and pasted it as a new deal. Regurgitating old info is hardly worthy of heat. However its still a great deal anyway.

Not surprising to see the same old people saying the same negative crap."first deal by the OP so must be linked to the ebay seller", blah blah blah.

Fools, appreciate the deal for what it is regardless of if he is the seller or not...
#32
Can I suggest that you make sure your smartphone needs to be unlocked. I assumed mine would but discovered accidentally that it wasn't locked at all - yet my network offered to unlock it for fifteen quid. It only takes a sec to try it with another sim.
#33
Used, worked brilliantly, there are currently no public exploits out there to sim unlock a HTC one series phone. Yes.there are partial bootloader unlocks available from HTC but these only allow the use of unsigned firmware and does not remove the sim lock. The only way to remove the sim lock currently are through codes like the ones provided here or from the network provider.

you are missing the point with your last sentence
