this seems to be a better option are there hidden charges?

only free incoming calls in certain countries
Call rates look a bit higher
£0.43 outgoing sms
£0.18 to call customer support
£20 to buy, much dearer than competition

"To keep your account active you must top it up at least once every 15 months and to preserve existing credit you need to make a call or send a text every 9 months."
Looking at United Mobile they charge in Euros so it is only 0.29Euros which is only 23p which is a good deal (Spain). i got one of Sim4travel but then put on the 39p charge.

* Call set up rate for all calls (one time) EUR 0.19

Its a PAYG with a pretty poor service, it also means all credit to it is likely to disappear if you dont go away for a couple of months.

More realistically its £11.87 a month - although to be fair it is a tenner a month in all months that end at 25.6 days.
shocking that 39p charge. can anybody tell me if
is any good?

I was hacked off with being ripped off by mobile companies - so we transferred all my immediate family's phones and the mobiles used for the two places I was working to Easy Mobile, as they calls between each mobile were buttons and so it ended being milked on cross network calls which were only included on some contacts then. I did it through quidco and the cashback should have been enough to cover the costs of the Christmas party for both works and my family (it was a software company I am am a director for and another that was renovating buildings I was buying to resell, and everyone was all family, friends, or family of friends).

The largest part of the quicdo money never appeared - the free calls that were there in the introduction of the offer never happened, and they folded before christmas.

The SLeaZy group at its best?

I wonder if they will be the next airline to throw the towel in?

I took a look at the site, but could not help wondering why?

Explain please?

Quidco fixed my missing cashback on this - but the payment still does not have a date set.

I never realised about the 39p a day charge, but with the unreliabilty of the service it was a close run thing as to whether it was worth it prior to their introducing this charge - so with it I would not go near them.
Is the 39p charge applied even if you don't make or receive a call?? If just for being on the network seems a bit much....however...If just for hols then....take the card out of your phone when you get back. Your credit is protected for 90 days then they charge you £2.00 to 'store' it. After 89 days send a text and switch it off again so you should keep your credit for a further 90 days for 39p + the txt charge.

Sorry cant help with your question....but Vodafone PAYG with their free roaming in selected countries may be cheaper for you if you're going to one of the countries where it applies.
Hi all, I read this thread a few months ago but was waiting until 30 days before my holiday as the TAC's say you have to activate the card within 30 days. So I took a look today and noticed that the promo codes cheapsim10/20 are no longer working :-(

Does anyone know if there are any new promotional codes for this sim card?

I have two Russian sims and it obviously has no incoming call costs when there - texts are 3p to the UK - and to call from the UK using Dialwise (0844 462 3030) is 2p a min. Also - both sims (on MTS and Megafon) have a webpage where texts can be sent free to my phone.

So this card is not much use for Russia as it has incoming and high usage charges - but it does seem good for France.

Why di you have two Russian sims, any reason other than you have two.

Also where is best to get them and get them loaded with credit, do your sims work all over Russia, I mean are they always free incoming and same rates out.

In the past I have looked at some sims and there is often talk of being within the moscow region...where is covered exactly, obviously Moscow but does it stretch further and where I would want to use the sim is in the far flung north
Thanks.... Just ordered one... am off next Thursday so should arrive in plenty of time
A useful and economical card, it seems, when terms/operation fully understood.

But be aware if needing one shortly before trip that Sim4travel cannot promise delivery inside a week or so, unless exhorbitant £5.95 paid for next day delivery! Carphone Warehouse is supposed to stock them but local branch totally unhelpful - no stock, no idea when getting any. However CW does sell them online or on phone (£10.00 will buy £10.00 of calls plus free card) and free delivery - in practice next day by first class post. CW Sales Dept most helpful when I phoned late Sunday afternoon; order taken, card sent Mon and received Tuesday .

Card validation online easy but I had a few probs with using it in wife's mobile. But Sim4travel customer services very helpful when I called (using landline - no premium rates.) One tip: if calling the phone from within the UK, just dial as a normal mobile number (07509 ...) and use 00447509... only overseas - fairly obvious I suppose but not clear from instructions, which implies the full number at all times.
