Didn't know Ron Jeremy and Mick Hucknall were responsible for so many hits.

Every track an absolute gem - except Cecelia which always ruins it for me!
#7
Why does the 'get deal' link take me to the US website with $10.99 price

So, every track bar 1, then? You gotta admit, Suggs worked his magic on it.*

*Not

Bridge over Troubled Water, one of, if not the best songs ever...... Paul was gutted he let Art sing this.....
#12
Good hair/tash and cap combo but somehow he pulls it off!

HEAT! One of the all time great albums, not a duff song in there. As for Cecilia, St Cecilia was the patron saint of musicians... I think it's about songwriting

I got the better 20-track "The Definitive Simon and Garfunkel" on CD many years ago, so I'm passing on this one.

Unlike this rather short compilation, it included "A Hazy Shade of Winter", covered very well by the Bangles (and even better in its longer Purple Haze Mix on the CD single).

IMHO the Live at Central Park is way better.

there are better si and gar greatest hits and i hate google play but 99p for someone who doesn't own any of their music is great.

Good deal, another 99p spent.

thanks pal

Only saying to the wife over Christmas that I couldn't get The Boxer out of my head! Great spot OP. Thanks

Think today might be the last day of the 99p deals - except deal of the week - it's the 12th Day of Christmas today :(

Wish I hadn't bought Bridge Over Troubled Water when that was 99p. This is an absolute steal

EDIT: I've had a listen and turns out these are live recordings and I don't think they're as good as the studio ones. Great songs but not the best versions.

Paul Simon wrote Homeward Bound whilst waiting for his train to arrive at Widnes Railway Station...interesting factoid? :p

Heard Paul's version and its dreadful in comparison.
Heard Garfunkel do it at City Hall Newcastle 4-5 years back or so and he STILL made it sound fabulous

How do you get this album for 99p, when I opened "get deal" it opened the album but said it was 7.99???

Only Kathy's Song is live - the rest are the studio recordings from the albums.
It's worth owning this album as well as BOTW (unless you plan to buy their other albums) as you're missing out on some great songs otherwise. You certainly didn't overpay if you bought one of the best albums ever recorded for 99p.

Not a factoid (something which looks like a fact but isn't) but an actual fact. Paul Simon said; "if you'd ever seen Widnes, then you'd know why I was keen to get back to London as quickly as possible."

Each to his own - I hate the cheesy keyboards in that concert. It's the only Paul Simon/Simon & Garfunkel album I don't own!

I agree the songs are great, I'm not a fan of these versions. According to the reviews these are live and if you listen you can tell the difference.

Turns out you're right, Kathy's Song and For Emily, Wherever I May Find Her are the only ones listed as live tracks but several others (59th St Bridge Song, Sounds of Silence, Homeward Bound and Bridge Over Troubled Water - I make that a total of 6/14 tracks) are also live. As I already own all the studio albums I'm actually pleased to have some different versions (which I guess is why they originally put those versions in this collection).
