It was never unlimited in the first place.

I'm on the old Simplicity (the one were you get 1 mms = 4 sms and so called unlimited web). Got a text off O2 the other week telling me I'd exceeded my "unlimited" internet allowance and advised me to either cut down or buy a bigger bundle. I mean how do you possibly buy a bigger bundle than "unlimited".....................? :whistling:

ironically under unlimited fair usage amounts still varied o.O

P***ed off with O2's shoddy "fair use policy".

T-mobile will happily let you continue browsing after you breach their 1GB/month limit. They simply limit downloading to between midnight and 4pm, which is a much more reasonable policy. The network is hardly going to be congested during these hours is it?

Connection is always fast and reliable too (for me in London anyway).

Bye bye O2, hello T-Mobile.

Who are owned by Orange(fr), and will be sharing their network with Three and Orange(both have 500MB caps).
So who knows what will happen in the future...:?

What else do you want for £10/mth ? A brand new BlackBerry to go with the SIM ?

This is an absolute bargain.

Not true for Three. I have been informed that my 1GB cap is now 2GB!!!! can anyone else confirm this?
Or is this just because I have three (3) accounts with them?:?

can we use this package into any phones ?
for using unlimited data..
is it specifically for blackberry?

^This. I really want to know

I don't know specifically about O2, but every other network I've worked on has a different APN for blackberry, and blackberry also uses a different mechanism to determine when there is email to retrieve (is sent a SMS-type message to make it retrieve, rather than a permanent email connection wasting battery).

The upshot is - no, you most likely will not be able to use this in a Nokia 5800, or any other non-blackberry.

Do you mean this SIM won't work at all in other phones or just that the free email won't work?
#22
There certainly is a difference between phones.

I put a standard O2 simplicity £20/month SIM in an iPhone and it wouldn't give me any data. Had to go and change one of the phone settings for it to work.
#23

In the 4th paragraph down in that link it states;
"Customers already tied in with a contract, and those who take one out before 24 June, will continue to receive 'unlimited' data access, O2 said."
#24
o2 have also started charging for picture messages. It used to be that one picture message used three from you text message bundle, not anymore. Its 20p per picture message for 2010 tarriffs.

I have been caught out by this and my £15 a month tarriff has cost £30 plus for past 3 months.
#25
£25 Quidco for a 12 month contract SIM Only as well. Brings the monthly cost to £7.92
#26
amazing price, im on the 19.99 1 month blackberry plan, never gone above any usage limits, and thats with sat nav

yes i had to do the same - alter the APN settings. they started calling them simplicity for iphone/blackberry as you need different APN settings for either device but it is essentially the same plan.

500meg is too bloody much data for blackberry phones, you are 99.9% unlikely to hit the 50meg usage each month!

My mate has an iPhone Simplicity sim in his Nokia and it works fine - including internet. Only difference being you have to use a different sim card to install the wap settings or install the settings manually.

People have posted on previous deals that they've used Blackberry Simolicity sims in non Blackberry phones without being charged for internet.
#32
just been on the dog to cust. services & was told that whoever signs up before the changes are introduced will not be affected i.e MMS - used to be 1 MMS message was equivalent to 4 inclusive SMS messages, now 1 MMS is 20p a shot. thankfully i signed up in aug 09, so i still get them included.

the data usage cap affects everyone, however i cant see me going over a 500mb cap as my last 4 bills i checked are all under 100mb, and i use 3G for internet quite often.

unless you are a heavy 3G data user, i dont think youre going to have a problem, however it does seem that they are having a big shake up with charges which co-incidentally comes just after the EU capped the roaming rates!

defo worth shopping about for new customers!

Got this deal on Saturday. It works perfect with my BB Bold 9700. Haven't tried the unimited wifi yet.

I have a Nokia 5800, with a simplicity sim in it from last year, the contract ends in another month. So I can get one of these Blackberry sims and just carry on with the internet? As my phone is already set up, and can just ignore any texts my phone receives?

Note that until about a week ago the Quidco on this sim was £50.
#37
been looking for a simplicty deal, using my o2 open this would cost me just £20 for the year ;)

Very true. Blackberry's compress the data massively so use far less than any other type of handset. This is particularly useful if using it abroad as will use a fraction of the amount an iphoen for example would use while constantly checking emails etc.

To give you some idea, I am a business mobile phone dealer and Vodafone's old Blackberry tariff used to include 6mb per month! Never saw a single customer go over this.

I've just asked an online chat rep about using this is an iphone:

Welcome to O2 live chat. Someone will start chatting with you soon.

You're through to Ryan.

Ryan: Hi there. My name's Ryan I am an O2 advisor, may I take your name please?

You: Hi Ryan, I'm Alan

Ryan: Hello Alan how can I help?

You: I see there is a special offer for 12 month Blackberry simplicity sims. Is there any reason I couldn't use one of these in an iphone?

Ryan: Well the web access will only work in a blackberry as it is provided by RIM the blackberry manufacture.

You: OK, thank you. I though there must be a snag.

Ryan: Is there anything else I can do?

You: No thanks, goodbye.

The exact same deal but for iPhone users is £15 (see below link), or £20 on a 1 month contract
http://shop.o2.co.uk/tariffs/simplicity/iphone/12_months

A bit unfair that iPhone users should have to pay more for the same thing!

Quidco was £50 for these Sim only 12 month contracts about a week ago, but now seems to have dropped to £25
