Good price - almost bought 7 and 8 for 20 quid in HMV last night.

Just a shame I don't have the earlier seasons in the collector's packaging :(

These series are pretty much the height of the Simpsons, It slowly starts to go bad up to 14 then declines at rapid pace in to utter un-viewable garbage from there out. Matt Groening I hate you for what you have turned the Simpsons into!

good price, though the deal price should really be £20 since you need to spend that to get them at the £6.66 each price
#11
You should change the price to £20. You can't get them for £6.66 each unless you pay £20 for 3.

Matt Greoning doesn't run the show anymore. Infact he stopped running it after the first 2 seasons..

Seasons 1-2: James L. Brooks, Matt Groening, Sam Simon
Seasons 3-4: Al Jean & Mike Reiss
Seasons 5-6: David Mirkin
Seasons 7-8: Bill Oakley & Josh Weinstein (The best, IMO. They also made Mission Hill)
Seasons 9-12: Mike Scully
Seasons 13-current: Al Jean

So Al Jean is the one responsible for the garbage that The Simpsons has become. :(

for me it became unwatchable when they had too many surreal moments (I know its a cartoon) with guests stars playing themselves for no reason and there was no plots as such to speak of but i think it started to redeem itself a little in the past season or so although ive only caught the odd episode here or there.
#15
It can't be that unwatchable if so many people still tune in...

I personally think they are still pretty good.
#16
It has been more hit or miss in terms of quality over the last few years, but it still has that wonderful ability to make you laugh out loud; not just smile, but give your ribs a damn good testing.

Just shows you how idiotic, and lacking in taste, people are.

well i still enjoy the show, but if its animated and fox show it, i watch it.

gutted how much i paid for all these on release, expecting to be able to sell them for loadsa wonga in the future...

luckily it paid off when it comes to the season 6 head, and 11-13 i guess. i dunno why i still get both versions though. seasons 1-5 were fine in their standard packaging but now 6-13 heads and standard packaging. i guess im hardcore lol.

The guest stars are not the issue, some of the early, truely great episodes had random guest stars for no apparent reason. I'm thinking 'Mr Plow' with 'Adam West', or 'Homer & Apu' where 'James Woods' fills in for Apu when he loses his job at the 'Kwik-E-Mart'

The main issue (and there are many other gripes), is that Homer fell, and took the show with him. Homer was always dumb, but lovable. He got dumber with every season, to the point where he could get no stupider. So, Homer became mean. And with that, he lost my sympathy, amongst all the slapstick humour, where the premise of the show became 'Homer gets hurt for your amusement'

Seasons 1-6 were just incredible, as damn near close to perfection as comedy gets. It is a real shame that the writers really lost their way after that. But let's celebrate the fact that we were given those shows, filled with comedy gold, for which 'The Simpsons' is still one of the best things ever.

How blaggable is the student discount on this site?

Random numbers anyone?

Drat! Just ordered 8 and 9 series from zavvi after it was posted here before! Might order these and send one of the others back...

Can I not get them cheaper without the tacky head shape? They look stupid on a shelf.
