Good deal, was going to look for this today. Thanks
#3
Anyone know if there are any plans to release this on BD?
#4
Appalling film.

And then people were SURPRISED to find out that The Spirit was bad!

Oh, well. That will open a debate I'm sure.

BTW, it's a fantastic film.

I enjoyed it, though it was the must violent and gruesome movie I've seen in years (I lead a v sheltered life). Jessica Alba doesn't poledance very well but with a bod like that who cares?

Thanks for the constructive input, adds a lot to the thread. In fact, I see virtually every post you make is in a similar vein. Don't like many films do you?

1) Thanks Mum. Interesting info on my posts. Please could I have the statistics on that, maybe you could draw a scatter graph or pie chart? I'm fairly sure that I've complimented some good films.

2) Why are you stalking me? If its not constructive then why are you making it your mission to stop me. Why is your idea of what makes a useful post better than mine? Maybe you own this website, if so then good for you. You've seen the title, you've seen the price, so why do you care that I am rightly pointing out that this film is bad? If you want a more constructive comment, its because the film has absolutely no substance whatsoever, its just for 13 year old boys to get off on salacious violence.

3) Do you want me to say that such an awful film is good? If people have seen it then they will have their own opinion. If they like bad films, then good for them. If its a good price then I still don't vote cold.

So, I went for a look to see what all the fuss is about. And I'm afraid that I have to agree wholeheartedly with WickedLester and deadleg21. You post derogatory comments on so many DVD that are posted on here. That is what is called trolling. And it is quite frowned upon by the Mods and other HUKDers.
FYI this is from the HUKD code of conduct: -
HUKD Forum Code of Conduct
III. Trolling, Trolls:
* Trolls are people who for no reason want to disrupt a forum topic by constantly posting out of context posts, derogatory comments, throwing insults, making personal attacks and deliberately inciting a negative response from other members. This is called trolling; in public forums and won't be tolerated here.

If a particular product - be that a DVD, CD, household item is not to your taste, just ignore it. There's no need to leave comments like "I'd rather have someone attack my testicles with a cheese grater" (although that one is quite funny:p).
I'm not having a go at you; so please don't think I am. You've left many a good comment on many posts - including one of mine. But, be careful, if you keep posting "trollish" comments you could find yourself with a suspension or a ban. Also, try posting a deal yourself. It's quite demoralising when the folk who take the time to seek out a bargain then post it on here are greeted with lots of negative comments (when they are not deserved). If it's a duffer of a deal then fair enough. How many first time posters start with "This is my first post so please be gentle....."? And who can blame them? After all; no one gets paid anything for posting deals; we just do it because we want to alert other HUKDers that there's a bargain out there. And, if people stop posting deals because they are fed up with negative/derogatory comments for no reason then we alllose out.
By the way; this is a fantastic film and a fatntastic price for a 2 DVD steelbox set:thumbsup:

I obviously have absolutely no taste in films ;-). I thought this was pretty inovative when I saw it at the cinema and therefore bought this for £9.99 around 12 months ago which I thought was a great price then.Violence is over the top but is it comic strip violence and the blood is always white to get around it. Different.
It's OK to have an opinion on anything, just don't expect others to agree with you. It's all about personal taste, but to say to others if they like bad films then good for them is implying that your opinion is correct and everyone else is wrong. You don't need me to tell you that is slightly patronising do you?

Well I'm not an expert on trolling, but my interpretation of 'derogatory comments', is that it refers to attacks on an individual, not a very simple little post saying that a very bad film is indeed very bad.

Basically I disagree with you. I am not trolling, just stating an opinion on a film. If a moderator wants to tell me I'm wrong and ban me, then that's up to them, I'm not exactly going to cry.

I'm being criticised for a post that isn't constructive, but what is constructive about all the posts that say "Wow! awesome movie, voted hot". Answer - no more constructive than mine.

You make some perfectly decent points on posting and how I should post a deal myself (I will if I ever see one). Unfortunately, they don't really always apply to me, because I said its a bad film, not a bad deal. As you pointed out, my anger can be directed in a more masochistic way. It should only demoralise the poster if they were involved in producing the film. You can't deny the fact that I'm not the only one who thinks that a lot of clutter is produced by these constant post about DVDs that are 3, 4 or 5 quid and so are now 50p cheaper than they were. I've seen people comment on their over abundance several times.

The personal attacks on this thread started with other people directing them at me in a subtle way without using insults, rather than the other way around. And that is what has resulted in many more posts which are not constructive.

I don't think the "rubbish film" comments on this thread are out of order. I was refering to some of your other posts. Although, the majority would disagree with you, and would film reviewers.
It's so easy to get into an "argument" on here. Someone posts something. Someone disagrees with it and posts a response, and then we're off on the war of words. And I've seen them get quite nasty.
I posted a steelbook of "From Hell" (a film that I really like) but was afraid of posting it 'cos I knew there would be loads who wouldn't like it. And I was right. It's got some heat, but is just full of derogatory comments. It's just a shame that's all. I've resisted biting back (so far):whistling: But that is what starts the nastiness off; someone posting a "this is a **** film/CD etc" - when there's a pretty damn good chance that the individual who posted it likes the film/CD etc - and they must know that when they post their "this is a **** film/CD etc" comment". So, the poster goes and defends the deal. Shouldn't have to happen. But it does.

never new anything about the film or its comic history .... i had heard the film was good and eventually bought it several months after it was realsed on dvd ..

cant complain about the film one bit ... very weird film but i enjoyed every minute of it .. and the acting is not to shabby either ( even if it is in a comic way ) .. i do like how the tie in all the individual stories together as you get to see the characters in the backround near the end as the last story nears completion

this is the best version imo, would have had it if it comes with the comic - doesnt mention it, so suppose it doesnt :( - fantastic deal though.
#18
i'll also say ... when i saw this re-cut version in hmv last year and looked at the case .. the runtime of the film is exacatly ther same as teh normal dvd ... so as the film is the same... you just get a load of extras
