We found one of these when we moved into our house and I fitted it because the one already fitted was knackered.

It was only supposed to be a temporary measure, but it's actually a great tap and it still fitted. I'm fitting a new kitchen in the next few weeks and will be using the same tap.

Ikea also sells this tap for around £30/£40. 'Sundsvik' or something.

The taps are always cheap but fitting them is difficult for us avergae Joe's and this requires a plumber visit , which costs more than the tap

I am no plumber and have no difficulty fitting a tap like this. Also I can put up paper and paint my own windows, unblock sinks and plenty of other stuff around the house...
#5
Are they trickier to fit than say a well known branded tap or is it that they're all just a bit fiddly for us non plumbers?

Youtube's your friend If in doubt of any trouble :{

Anyone know if these taps have an aerator on the end? I'm looking for the "champagne" type flow from the spout!

I've never understood the trend for ceramic taps. Unless it's a big name make you will struggle to get the replacement discs when they start dripping.Rubber washers are a much better option and are easily serviceable.

Having said that this tap is cheaper than the ceramic discs I've just replaced in a Grohe tap. If you are going to buy a tap just buy a cheapie like this. It should be very easy to fit if it comes with flexible tap connectors, all you need is a deep socket or tap spanner.

i hate rubber washers! One cost me a new wooden floor!!!!!!!!

To save me a long drive, does anyone know if it has a swinging spout - as suitable for a twin basin kitchen sink ???
#11
If it is suitable for pressurised systems, does that mean that it is unsuitable for conventional gravity fed ones?
#12
I will buy one on Thursday. Thanks op.

They will normally work from 0.3 bar up although I haven't seen these. That means 3 metres from the top water level in your storage tank to the tap outlet. Sometimes if they don't work particularly well you can unscrew the aerator/filter out of the end of the spout to improve performance.

If you have mains cold/gravity hot it may not work at all. (You need a 'dual flow' tap).

Thanks for the info. So a hot water head of at least 3 meters and it should work OK, great!

Just checked the carton info in my local LIDL. It specifically says unsuitable for low pressure systems, so I'm out. Thanks again tmg for the cautionary post. Always good to hear from someone who knows ;-)

Just bought and fitted one today, really good quality product and equally good fixings. In a totally different league to the carp I bought off of eBay last time!
Cheers Op.
