89p in Home and Bargain !

I take it from the reviews on amazon that this is useless to transport your food...so what's the point? ...you may as well use a bowl.

Not sure why people think it's useless to transport food in? I use mine everyday for soup, which is put in a bag while I walk to work. Never had a problem with spilling or leaking. They are fab. I've had mine for about 18 months and everyone at work now has one.

i bought a few at 79p from hb

Theres bigger and better bowl type Sistema in Asda for £4

If you don't mind paying an extra 99p, Aldi are selling these in packs of 2 at the moment for £6.99 and you dont have to wait for delivery or spend extra to get it over the £10 mark https://www.aldi.co.uk/en/specialbuys/friday-2-january/product-detail/ps/p/soup-mugs/

Had theses in home bargains for 1.99

these are good for microwaving but are NOT watertight- they will leak in your bag, as I found out. You can put clingflim over the top before you put the lid on and that fixes it- but for the price they should really make them watertight, its not that hard...

Great product. I've since purchased a few other sistema items, can't fault any of them.

On Saturday, Asda (South Bank, Middlesbrough) had a big range of Sistema ones on sale. Soup bowls, noodle bowls and others. The noodle bowls were £3. I bought two.

Got one from home bargains, great quality, doesn't leak, and 79p, a great buy!!
#22
I wouldn't trust the home bargain ones to be 100% leak proof.

Depends how you plan to use it, mine sits in my locker at work so 79p is spot on.

89p at home bargains

A 2 pack of these Sistema mugs is £7 in Aldi at the moment if that's easier for anyone
#25
You can get a similar one in b n m for 99p x

These are good if you make soup and you can put them straight in the freezer. stop splashes in the microwave too!!!
#27
I also saw these in Morrisons cheaper. They had loads at the weekend.

To the "79p in home bargains" crew:

They're not the same item!

These are Sistema brand and are very good quality, no leaks for me if you take care to seal them properly (no food on the rim, etc.)
and the steam latches are more durable and removable for cleaning.

Home Bargain ones are OK and pretty good for the price, but the products are not interchangeable.

Nice one. We got two and one each for my kids (who are in late 20s but wife still buys for them) for £4 each and thought it a decent deal.

Not a fan of heating plastic with food, as leaches & is absorbed through the guts, building up in the body as plastic is not easily discharged, then they get to work on mutating the cells. I use silicon (basically sand) containers & when travelling or backpacking, folding silicon containers & cups. Never use microwaves either.
#32
These were £1.50 in Asda last week.
#33
Anyone know if this is leak proof?
#34
Just a word of caution, plastic and heat don't mix. The amount of articles on even microwavable safe plastic being dangerous is Shocking. Stick with glass and have a chemical free meal :)

I bought one of these and used it once for tomato soup and even after a thorough wash was still stained red/orange... Bad Product.
#37
Yeah another vote for the b&m version, mines leak proof 6 months on, for 89p I love it :)

There is a warning on the cardboard packaging of the Sistema soup mugs that states if heating tomato soup in these mugs, staining is likely to happen. Noticed this happen on other plastic containers such as tupperware etc, so it's not exclusive to these mugs.
