This Sitecom Wireless Network Antenna Extender gives you the maximum wireless range throughout your home or small office. By connecting the Extender into the antenna jacks of your router or PCI card, you will be able to position the antennas better. This will eliminate any decrease in the range that may have been caused by placing your PC or router under your desk or in a restricted area, so you can get your wireless network back up to full speed

* Can easily be attached to the SMA connectors on your wireless PCI Card or Router
* Replaces the detachable antennas on your PCI card or router
* Requires: 3 Antenna Wireless PCI Card or Router with detachable external antenna conectors

I got a router with only two antennas on. I take it I can still use this?

States on their site

Requires: 3 Antenna Wireless PCI Card or Router with detachable external antenna conectors

Hence, doubt if a 2 antenna system will work

I've got the same ... only two and it quite specifically says
"Requires: 3 Antenna Wireless PCI Card or Router with detachable external antenna connectors"
so I guess it won't work with my Belkin N+ Router - I'm just trying to work out if it's worth the £7.49 to experiment

At a guess each socket connects to one of the antennas. So if you have a single or dual antenna then just connect to the output from your router and this will just use 1 or 2 antennas on the extender.

Only issue might be if 3 antenna systems use a different attenuation to 2 antenna but I wouldn't think so. I am guessing this would work.
