The Lidl Ready Charged LSD ones are great. They are not as good as Eneloop for holding their charge but the capacity and stability stay good. I've charged a couple of packs of their AAAs 4 to 500 times.
I suspect the standard batteries(same price) have improved but (many years ago) I found at high charge rates they failed.
Ansmanns or eneloops imo

I would not bother. Reviews are all for different batteries.
Ones that actually worked were for at only 850mah.

Wait for the Lidl ones.

are lidl ones good? Bought some duracell ones not so long ago and they've kicked the bucket
And no, pre charged batteries have a natural smaller capacity so 1100mah will not be low self discharge pre-charged.

More likely they will arrive dead as a dodo.

Absolute bargain for budding diy electronic repairs. Don't know about repairing armatures tho, tends to be a professional job. :p

Not bad for amature use, won't last too long though, if you're in it for the long run pony up for a decent weller iron.

These are only necessary if you are in the trade. Otherwise common sense will tell you when your tyre treads are low and nearly all tyres now have wear markers. That'd said, it is a cheap piece of equipment and may come in handy for you or a fiend one day. voted hot. Thanks.

Seriously?

These should be compulsory for anyone with a driving licence. Yes tyres have wear markers but are you really going to leave until it could possibly be too late.

Don't risk killing someone and/or 3 points and buy one of these

Also remember everyones common sense is different ;)
. How is buying one of these going to stop you killing someone. My point was that if you actually visually check a tyre your common sense will tell you when tread is looking low. If you can't see when it is getting close you shouldn't own a car.

I work with HGV's and of course I use these, but only because inspections and mot's need accurate depths. I can fail a truck almost immediately with no tool, if it's at 1.00mm or lower. 1.6 for light veichle's
Very nice gadget but this, as ms2005 said above works too
Any else the the programme a few months ago about Kwik Fit? From my own experience with them and from the findings of the programme I will never use them again.

Voted cold as it has power sapping neon lights all over it. One that's on permanently and one for each switch when they're on. Completely unnecessary.

You do realize that these 'power sapping' neons use roughly 1-2mA ??
That's not really power sapping at any stretch of the imagination !!

If you don't need the surge protection
http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/8-gang-extension-lead-neon-switched-cpc-6-86-delivered-1812287
is £3 cheaper with no need to buy something else for free delivery.

Why on earth would anybody buy extension leads without surge protection?
Because how many reports of surge damage are there?

Maybe... Just maybe...

A £10 surge protector will not protect against a direct lightning strike. Heck, an expensive surge protector won't either most of the time - you need dedicated pathways to take the voltage and current elsewhere.

There is really very little a home user can do to protect against a direct hit, apart from unplug your appliances and hope they aren't part of the route to the ground if you get hit.

Oh god... Why so serious?

Because after reading comments on this site for a few years now, I don't overestimate the average intelligence of a HUKD user. Many of which will believe a £10 device will protect them from a lightning strike.

Bless you. I'm going to send you a nice fruit basket.

Go for QED for improvements. I've bought this one for so long it just keeps braking over and over again... it's not the best but for its price its exceptional.
Got mine today, Thanks op :)

I found my answer, This cable is better than a standard 3.55mm stereo cable :)

Ordered the 1m for 99p. Could do with a phono to phono cable as well but they don't seem to do those strangely

Is this what you're after?

Cheers. I was hoping Sivitec would do one for 99p like the 3.5mm to phono, seems strange that they wouldn't.

Voted + HOT on price & fact that it has 8 individual switches.

Could not find a 6 switched [let alone an 8 swithced] ganger for less than a tenner [uk based]

Ordered a couple last night for a new VA office setup, so not fussed about neons, however it would be good if they were just switched not lit.

Think this is a "masterplug" or copy of one as the core plastic molding looks the same, so should last like others have posted.

In Addition:

On the hunt for a higher plug capacity without switches now, so will post when find a deal 8)
Bought 6 of these couple of months back when they were £7.99 each. No complaints here
Just got a refund from last time, they never arrived.
I purchased this a few months back. I use all 8 sockets for my AV system. I have no problems with it but I am going to change it for one that doesn't have neon switches as the red glow is beginning to bug me a bit. Delivery was prompt and basic packaging. Great price too so heat from me
Thanks ordered

Does anyone know if I could use this to feed my electric guitar into the input on my pc sound card? Have fancied doing this so I can record myself but don't want to buy one of the more expensive USB type converters.

This seems to be a stereo to stereo adapter. A guitar will be mono output so mono plug into this will only output to one channel. You can get around it by only pushing the mono plug in until the first click, but this will be unreliable. You need a mono to stereo adapter or even better, a USB or Firewire audio interface which aren't too expensive.

AKA 1/4" jack to 1/8" jack converter cable. Hot stuff from me. I own a lot of these cables made buy this manufacturer (thick blue cable, plastic silver jacks, usually have "digital" written on them somewhere) and they are really good quality for how cheap they are. Just be careful because the jack plugs on these are quite large and do not fit through most phone cases.

Yes, I can confirm the 3.5mm jack on the one I received is fairly thick and as u say will not fit through a mobile phone protective case.
Apart from that it's good. Got it plugged into my DAC and it sounds fine.
I have been needing one of these for years but didn't realise it until I saw this!

is this in essence a 3.5mm extension lead ?

Wouldnt a 3.5mm extension lead have a 3.5mm socket on the end?

picture looks like a 3.5mm female end, and 3.5mm male end?

Doesnt to me.

Looks nothing like this? at all ?

It does except the hole is bigger, and that's the point.

mine was never delivered, getting refund.
Are these safe enough to plug adapters and mobile phone chargers into?
Now expired, GBP 9.49
These are good quality, impressed with mine. I bought two when they popped up here for 8.99, and recently I needed a third and spent 3 weeks waiting for the price to drop again from nearly £12.... before relenting. And now they drop in price when I stop looking! Tempted to grab another anyway.

The switches light up and have a good positive action, no problems so far. have previously bought well known branded versions for £25+ which have let me down.

The last one I bought was a different Amazon seller, but product identical.
thanks OP
