When death is your business, what is your life? For the Fisher family, the world outside of their family-owned funeral home continues to be at least as challenging as --and far less predictable than --the one inside. From Oscar-winning screenwriter Alan Ball (American Beauty) comes this breakout series that takes a darkly comic look at members of a dysfunctional L.A. family that runs a funeral business. With Peter Krause, Frances Conroy, Michael C. Hall, Lauren Ambrose and Rachel Griffiths. This box set contains all five seasons of the show that changed the landscape of television forever.

Nothing like True Blood (which is gradually finding its feet.... or fangs!) and, in my view, much better.

Alan Ball was a lot more hands on with the writing of Six Feet Under, and the characters are a lot more enriched and complicated. No signs of vampires or sci fi elements! If you don't ball your eyes out on the last episode you're not human.

If I could say trust me, then..... trust me, get it.
Without a doubt, THE best TV series I have ever absolute bargain at this price! to OP
One of the greatest shows ever made. It affected me deeply, lots of people felt the same after watching it, and the finale is one of the most moving episodes I've ever seen on TV. It's more like American Beauty than his new show True Blood. I wish this would come out on Bluray, but for 55 quid it's not a bad deal at all.
Amazing show. Don't even utter True Blood here, that's American pop rubbish in comparison to this.
True Blood is actually not too bad, but it takes a long, long time to grow on you. Behind the vampire hoo-ha are some pretty well developing characters. And we're only up to Season 2. But, I've yet to see Alan Ball's hands on the writing and directing credits, which is disappointing.

If you watch SFU Season 1 you'll find it takes some time to get its feet, and this only really happens in Season 2 in my opinion.
This was £40 in Zavvi not all that long ago.

Regardless, this is a must-see series. Without question one of the best things on TV from the last 20 years.
