They're the Up Rocks as posted previously iirc and from looking at them in store. All I'd say is the quality difference between them and the tat Sports Direct sell for £7.99 is night and day, but the same sort of gap exists between them and the likes of the Sennheiser HD201's for £18 from Amazon. I recently got my son a pair of HD201's in preference to Skull Candy as the 201's have a 2 year warranty, better quality and longer lead, are a lot more comfortable to wear and sound amazing. The only thing SC rates higher on is probably image if you're of a certain age then that may be (more) important.

Heat for a decent budget buy, but if you genuinely want decent sounding headphones then you can get a lot better by spending only a few quid more.

Looking to get my son some headphones for Christmas.
Was waiting for the sony mdr zx310 to drop a little on amazon as I have a £3 voucher, don't know whether to just go for these instead?

That's what i thought when i got my Up Rocks for under a tenner. I am no audiophile but the sound quality on them is shocking (even considering the price), especially for rock music, which is ironic.

Not voted either way, BTW

Sennheiser HD201/202's are great, but you should know that they have god damn massive cables and are not suitable for travel. I've got some Skullcandy IEM's and they're pretty decent for just casual listening to music, so I'm going to guess these will be pretty decent. Plus these have an inline microphone/button unit for phone calls on the move/changing tracks etc.

I managed to get a set of red 310's for £12.50 this week on Amazon. The annoying thing with amaZon is that the price changes every few hours too !!

They're £12.50 in Tesco. National.

But they sound rubbish. Buy Sennheisers instead.

Yep, it is quite long, but it's easily wrapped up. I have AKG 452's with button etc. which are more portable but I still find myself nicking my son's HD201's given the choice.

I know, they love changing prices don't they! Ordered the white ones for £12.50 in the end, would have preferred the red or blue though.

Do they really actually sound rubbish? I've got some hd201s but got these for my son.
I used to have done sony mdrs before for mixing and thought I remember them being alright?
