these skull headphones good? for a 15 year old? thinking good xmas present, or better to spend more on better ones?

They could halve the price again, and they still wouldn't be worth the money...
Sound quality is crap, build qaulity is crap (as is with pretty much every model headphone Skullcandy produce).

Most 15 year olds only care what they look like, so they'd probably love them.
I've always considered Skullcandy's fashion accesories, rather than headphones.

Ok find for those that want them, so heat added.

I got some of these for my daughter to go with her iphone as she wanted them so much. Personally, the sound is awful and not something that matches all the hype about this brand of headphones. She now has some Dr Dre's which are a lot better.

Both of my kids have over the head Skullcandys whilst my OH & I have in ear ones. We all find them very good for the money & at this price they're a bargain!:D

Wow step up in price range to Dr Dre! I've never tried them, but at their price I hope they are awesome.

As for the deal here, I bought the same headphones in April. In fairness I thought the clarity sounded great but I never felt they were bassy enough. I'm no sound expert but their lowest frequency was high compared to others? Whether that effects my issue with the headphones or not but I never felt they had enough bass for me personally. I managed to get some JVC Slimz (was £5 on play.com for a few hours! - the silver ones are £9.99 in Morrisons at the mo, £14.99 for black). They are much bassier without being over powering and would suit a 15 year old even though I'm not one X)

Don't understand why everyone rates Skullcandys, mediocre sound quality, nearing bad build quality and I suppose an interesting design, but for a few extra quid you can always get a decent pair of Sennheisers, another brand that atleast most teens should recognise...
Voted hot though, good price compared to elsewhere I suppose, and if you're looking for a pair of these then it's a bargain

Sure. A spring goes in the headband and crushes your cranium to a sweet sticky pulp :p

after I made my comment I acquired a Sennheiser PX100-11, I had to return and say this, for a few quid more it's worth it to leave the skull candy alone and get a proper set, this little headphone, the Senheisser is far superior, it's like being in a proper world class studio bruv..... for a present to a style crazy mate, who's not keen on sound quality, skull candy, it's ok, I returned the skull candy...lol!!... you all know the rest...:-)
