Just received an email from sky who are sending it out to everyone who has had sky before. I just received 50% off and free new equipment. I was also cheeky and asked for credit and got £35 pounds. It is for 12 months and includes all bundles and free broadband. Check your inboxes. It also said to call this number so if you had an account you can chance your luck. 08442411348. Ends 22nd Of January. Let me know how you all get on!

I know you can get better deals when they phone you but this isn't guaranteed. This looks like 50% off to anyone who has had sky before (Not to very selected few).

The guy on the phone said they have 3 teams on the calls today so they are expecting a big rush

I received a similar offer by phone a few months a go. £100 credit and no 12 month contract.

50% off should be the minimum you get, lots have managed to get 75% off in the past year. If you get the email call the number and tell them 75% of nothing:)
#4
Sky is always 50% off if you have left.. It is best holding out for a better deal.. If you wait a couple of months they will send you another email or ring you and offer you 75% off..

Sky have always worked this way with me
#5
im paying 30 quid for phone, broadband, full hd and full sky package, nothing wrong with a good hard haggle lol...Used to be in terms you need to have sky phoneline for their broadband , dont know if they changed this now?

I tried haggling all I could as thats the best they offered me. 16.50 for the family bundle (2 months paid) and i was happy anyway. I have a friend who works for the winback team and says the offers then can get rise and drop and your lucky if they phone you as there is no guarantee. Hopefully this deal helps those who would originally don't know about the deal get it for half price.

sky are rubbish with existing customers. Cancel when you can and decline all offers they give you at the start. They should come back with a decent offer after a month, sometimes a lot sooner. Make sure you have marketing communications ticked in your account

Held out and sky called me before Xmas offering 60% off and £50 credit on a rolling thirty day contract. Took that.

Ring up put in your cancellation, tell them you can't afford it, new baby, redundancy something like that make sure you stick the cancellation. they will try during the call to offer you 10% maybe more, be brave say no still to expensive, during the 30'day period you might get a phone call, resist they will probably offer you between 25 -35% time ranging from 6 months to a year. Hold out, some people get more calls. On the day of switch off go online to your account and there is normally a 50% offer waiting, if not call the number above and they will make an offer.
Over the last 7 or 8 years think I have paid full subscriptions for only 6 months, wife has been on maternity leave for 5 years!!! Smallest discount 10% biggest on it now 75 off full package :) have another go in March when this 12 months is up. Keep an eye on MSE TV haggling forum to see what is currently out there and what to expect, also helps with knowing when to push for more off :) good luck

Just gave them a ring as about to Join BT with an infinity cable deal and BT sport package to see if they could better BT offer which will work out at £23.40 / month including line rental and they could not get near it with a sports package so happy with decision.

If cash back should track BT package would work out at £5.90 a month now that would be good !!

I cancelled a few days ago, and yesterday got offered half price for 12 months with no tie-in contract, plus a £50 credit.
I'd already refused £10 off, £15 off and 35% off.
I'd keep saying no until you get an offer you are happy with.
#19
I got an email offering 33% off for 5 years if I come back and commit for 12 months a few hours ago.

i got 60% off and free HD , cold

Hi, can anybody advise me please. I've just rung and cancelled my Sky in the hopes of getting a much better deal within the month than the 20% off they originally offered.

If they don't come back with an offer, and Sky goes off after the month, does the sky box still work for freeview channels? Or do I have to get a completely new system?

Thanks
Sarah

You'll be able to watch the free channels, but not record.

I phoned tonight to confirm my end date tomorrow morning. They tried to offer me a better phone and BB offer but to tie me into a 12 contract which limits what other companies would offer me with a TV. Sky also offered me 20% again to stay with them. I told them to stick both offers where the sun doesn't shine but in a polite way! It looks like Virgin or BT for me! Good luck to the rest of you coming to the end of your contract. I am not willing to pay the prices Sky charge. They should look after there loyal customers rather than selected but fair play to those who know how to haggle them down!
#33
Thanks for that. I've done some research today and it seems you can buy a freesat card for Sky, then pay £10 pm to keep the sky + features, which I'll probably do. I reckon I won't get a great deal with Sky until the 30 days have passed, and they believe I really have left!

Bit worried about all the stuff we've got recorded on the planner, but I think if the sky channels go off after 30 days, they will remain on the planner, just unviewable. Then if I rejoin Sky later, they will become viewable again.

Does anybody know if that is correct/incorrect?

All correct, except you won't need to pay for a new card, you'll just use your existing one. I don't know if paying £10 a month for Sky+ would affect your eligibility for any offers, as technically you would still be a customer.

Hi Sarah, you will still get freeview/freesat channels through the box, however you will not be able to record. I was in the same situation, ended up ringing them back and I said had an email offer (lied) from them for 50% and they honoured it straight away. Pete

I pay £54 for all channels, movies, sport, hd, phone (free weekends) and broadband (but it's really slow).

Is this a good deal or should I phone them, only took out this 12 month contract in September though but if I say I'm on maternity etc (which I actually am) will they still reduce it?
#37
My Sky TV contract ended today. The only offer I've received during the 31 day cancellation process was 20% not worth accepting! Am going to look into a new offer with Virgin or BT now!
#38
cancelled about a month ago. but as soon as it was cancelled, when logging into my sky account it says "come back to sky with 50% off"

still havent taken it up. dont really feel its worth it
