Currys seem to be offering half price sky HD like comet were previously. I enquired in the Doncaster digital store and it seems a nationwide half price deal on that and sky + (sky plus £75). Not hugely advertised but still available instore!

Not an amazing deal but anyone after HD subscirption, its cheaper than going through sky!

I wasnt informed that i had to buy a TV, i know it isnt always the case. In the past I've seen 'buy anything and get sky HD half price' Not bad if you pick up a pack of batteries for a few quid

Hope it is useful to someone!

I read in the Sunday Times magazine advertisement that you need to purchase a HD ready tv to qualify for half price HD box at participating retailers.

If this deal is contingent on you buying a TV and you really want Sky HD, go via Quidco for £125 cashback.

I've been told by a Sky rep, that whilst the deal is basically awhen bought with a tv, when the sales person phones sky to arrange installation, they dont take any details of the television purchase, so you could get the deal without buying anything, but I guess this will rely on you getting a salesbod who is willing to do this for you - its no biggy, but apart from margin profit on the bottom line, there is nothing to show for their effort, so I would imagine alot of people wouldnt bother.

not as good as the £99 comet deal. Why don't you check if thats still going?

Such a shame, I was really intrested in this at first sight.

Thought this was a good deal untill i read these comments!

Just for note. These stores often allow the deal to go through with out the purchase of a tv.

I did this in comet a few months back. Just asked if they would honor the deal without a purchase, and they did.

Bonus.

I did not need to add any other service such as sky talk or braodband.
