Just spoke to Sky cancellations department and they offered me the follow deal they have at the moment

Sky Box self install (means they send you the box to plug in and setup) £30

50% off my current sky package for 6 months

+ the £10 HD pack

Therefore Sky HD is only costing me £60 for the year and£30 for the box.

Great deal!

not really a deal in my opinion as it seems customer specific and depends whether you can catch a decent customer service person on a good day

But good deal for you personally ;)

Totally agree. Was made redundant in October. Rang them and was offered only free calls on my call package for six months (£5 reduction) per month! a £5 reduction on £75 per month - great!

But as Danny says - great deal for you!

Thye told me this was what they are offering existing customers who call at the moment

Maybe they should start reducing their prices for their loyal customers, I have HD and the full package, its costing me over £70 a month... and the quality of the programming is getting worse... same films shown up to 3 times a day... half the stuff they say is in HD is not... I'm close to cancelling...

I got the Sky offer that was posted on here a while back. The one where you put in a random code on the site for knowing someone within the company...even though i rang them up and gave them the code over the phone cause i already had a install date booked.

Sky HD - All the HD channels including sports
Free box
Free install
And still got my M&S vouchers

All for £23 a month..now that was a real bargain:-D

isnt this a duplicate deal of this without the hassle of going through cancellations??

OMG, I can't imagine paying that sort of money just for TV channels. Would you not consider just paying £250 for an HD Freesat Recorder?

Freesat wont get you anywhere near the same amount of "HD" channels you get with the full HD package on Sky...

Personally I'm quite happy with the free HD channels I receive after I just bought a SKY HD box and plugged it in, got the card swapped to the new box, and get sky+, BBC HD, ITV HD, CH4 HD enough to keep me occupied

Apart from Ch4 you get all of those with Freesat. Lux channel is rubbish. How much does it cost to buy that Sky+ box and the card? Just wondering if it's less than £250?

Yeah they are the free channels, my point was that the other chap said he was paying over £70 per month he would be getting sky sports HD pack, sky movies HD pack.

other HD packs include History channels, Discovery Channels etc etc

none of these are available on the Freesat HD service as far as I am aware

I paid £80 for the Sky+ HD box and still pay basic £15 a month, already had the card so no other cost I think they are around £20 though...like for like what I get and what you get on Freesat HD is approx the same for the same money.

However I have the opportunity to add the extra HD packs on like the other guy (not that i want too with that ridiculous cost lol)

It's stupid for me as a lot of channels don't work but their +1s do and very rarely get a HD channel fail

Hmmm, I thought you could just maybe buy a Sky+ box and use it without paying a monthly subscription. If so I would have got one as I'm thinking of buying another Freesat Recorder for the bedroom. Not prepared to pay that though. I think many more people would get Sky if their prices were better.....until then I'll stick with Freesat :)
