Does this mean you still have to pay them money?
bad deal as the hard drive will only work if you keep paying sky, so any other freesat HD box with a hard drive would soon work out the cheaper option at around £250 (plus humax make a better box).
Yep, it's the 'best' (debatable these days but never mind) PVR but ONLY when you've got a sky subscription. Otherwise it's crippled.
Bit like buying a car, then paying the garage a monthly fee to use the radio! I won't be paying to use the functions of a box I have paid for....think a freesat HDR box is a better deal long term!.

This might be the best price for a non-contract $ky HD+ box, so thanks to the OP ... BUT....

.... The £10 a month just to use the record button is a real killer.

£260- £270 buys you a Freesat PVR
I still think it's hot for people who aren't interested in the PVR - remember you get free installation of the sat dish and 2 month free Sky inc. movies and sports which is worth the fee alone. I couldn't care less that I can't record since on Sky there are so many repeats you're bound to catch it another way. Add in the free streaming from BBC, ITV and the like (such as iPlayer) and the 'Red Button' and it makes the deal even better! Plus, I'm sure someone will manage to find a way around the current limitation ...

I bought Pay Once Watch Forever a few months back but am now on FTA cnannels only i.e. I don't pay a subscription. Does that mean I would be classed as a new customer? If so this is very tempting. I don't see FreeSat HD boxes radically coming down in price which makes this a great deal.

That's a Freeview box (a quite good one as well)... the one and only Freesat Humax PVR is c. £260
