SKY Movies - Free TWO month upgrade

Just had a flyer, thought I'd share.

Deal does not appear to be person specific, just call:

08442 410243

to register.

You get 12 movie channels (although we all know its more like 3 when you take out the +1's etc) and Disney Cinemagic.

The deadline to call is the 24th October so they are obviously wanting to draw you into christmas with the hope of you staying with it. Says that you just have to call within 31days of the trial starting to cancel.

will give it a try later, thank....ok for nowt !

Does it have your address printed on it?
#3
Yes, but theres no code to quote. It could be specific but its surely worth a shot, I very much doubt Im the only one who received it, if they ask, just say that you have thrown the leaflet away or that someone has told you about it, the fact that it very specifically finishes on christmas eve makes me suspect that they are hoping that the draw of Disney etc will make the kids pester (which is why Im not going for it as my little lad knows how to use the remote and would keep moaning at me once it turned off).

Perhaps someone could try it and see what they say, then report back???
#4
It actually shows on your Sky account if you have had an offer sent out, that's how the offer is applied. But I suppose good luck to anyone who fancies an argument!
#5
Good call.

I have just registered with Sky for the offer and mine is free for 3 months.

You must cancel 31 days prior to the offer ending otherwise they will bill you.

Thanks
#6
Interesting! Will give them a call tonight and see what they say. Can you possibly scan and upload the flyer that came through, just in case Sky ask any questions?

When you called, did you just ask if there were any offers available on Sky Movies, or did you say you had a flyer offering two months and they told you it was actually three for you? Just trying to decide the best way to phrase my question when I call, lol.

Just as regards the first post, actually there are at least 10 movie channels disregarding the +1 (which is only Premiere I think), plus then they're all separately available as HD. So 12 sounds about right.

*After 2 months the choice is yours. You can either return to your previous package (31 days notice required for Sky packages in line with your TV contract) or keep all the additional channels (currently £35 - £40 for packages inc sky movies).

Hope that helps!!!

Just thought I'd get it in before someone else pointed out that theres not actually 12 channels ;)

I was going to say the same thing about there being only 1+ channel (two if you're counting the HD and normal ones separately). Either way, this is an extremely good deal. Back before the re-launch of Sky Movies, it really wasn't worth the money. Pretty much none of the movies were well known. Nowadays it's an absolute bargain.

Do you know if this includes any Anytime upgrade as well? Either way, this is hot.

Heat added.

smallclone

Also, you'll need to know your pin as some of the 15 rated films shown during the day require it.
I'm pretty sure it's all films 12+. 12 and 15 films shown after 8pm don't need a PIN, and it's after 9pm that you wont need a PIN for 18+ films. The same applies if you try and watch a film off of Anytime.

It didn't work for me however when I said I would cancel I got straight through to the cancellation department who offered me all the movie channels aswell as my existing packages for half price! This means I was paying £21 per month, adding the movie channels would have been £37 in total and with 50% off, I'm now paying £18.50 per month!
It lasts 6 months in total and if your circumstances change or you don't want all the channels, you can cancel anytime within the 6 months without any penalties. A better offer than 2 months free I think.

will try thanks

I threatened to cancel last week and have the 6 months half price, £21 for sports and hd. I do it every now and then, one day i'm gonna go to far and sky will pull the plug!!

Anyway because i have this offer for 6 months they said if i have the 2 months of movies it would cancel the existing offer so not worth it for me. When i rang though they knew about it staright away and were prepared to do it (i just said a friend had a leaflet i must have chucked mine)
#20
:( Thanks for the heads up but it didnt work for me either.

I rang the number and explained that my friend had received a flyer through the door offering her 2 months free sky movies upgrade ........ can I register for it too I asked

The very kind lady took some of my security details and said she would check on my account. 30 seconds later she said that there was nothing on my account saying that an offer had been sent out to me so I wasn't entitled to it :'(

Thanks anyway ;) Good luck to anyone else trying to get this .
#21
going to check my sky account now to see if we have any offers if not I will be threatening to cancel lol thanks
#22
Hmmm - I got 3 months for £5.00 last week just by phoning and asking for it..
Didn't think to ask for it for free oO
#23
Didnt work for me too.

They said there was nothing on the account about the offer so they couldnt offer me it too.
#24
Maybe oversubscribed now? More likely the operator though, I'd ring and try again, you might get a more reasonable agent?!?
#25
ive have just rang sky and the only offer they would give me was half price,i said about the offer and they said that wasnt an offer!

I can blag for England, just been on the phone to Sky for 25 minutes getting passed from one department to another. They all said the same thing 'theres nothing on your account to show that you are eligable'. I argued that the leaflet came through my door this morning addressed to me and that I was holding it infront of me now and read it word for word from the earlier post of the actual leaflet. Nope, not a sausage, 3 different people wouldn't budge an inch, i even threatened to leave but nowt!
So in my opinion not a good deal at all unless you have specifically been sent by post one of these leaflets from Sky, which probably means that you have been waiting (without realising) a long time for one of their 'special' offers just like this! For example, just like I got the sports package 'free' for 3 months.

Sorry you had no luck, maybe they have just been aware of increased demand for this "offer", lindseyanndavis says she was offered it despite it not being on her account, sky agents have ALWAYS been a very inconsistent bunch :p
#28
Yeh i got mine....i kicked off got passed thru to two people, it wasnt on my account but checked with a manager and said they would sort it and call me back which she did at 4.30 and it take 24 - 48 hours for it to be working. !! Should have got her name.
#29
Just called and the very nice man sorted it for me :) He even told me the date to call back and cancel to ensure I didn't get charged.
#30
going to check my sky account now to see if we have any offers if not I will be threatening to cancel lol thanks

Where on my online account do i "see" if i have any offers??

DAMNOME
Hmmm - I got 3 months for £5.00 last week just by phoning and asking for it..Didn't think to ask for it for free oO

Same for me.. I got 3 months for reduced price of £6.00.. But no free 2 months.. I'm happy as it will cover christmas.. :))
#32
Just been told that i'll get a call back tomorrow as there doesn't seem to be anything on my account about the offer. When I asked him what the problem was he said that ' a lot of people had called in about the offer tonight and it hasn't been showing up on their accounts'. He was going away to investigate before calling me back! fingers crossed!

I did this last year and it cost me about £50!! so beware. I telephoned to cancel and they said i had another week so left it until then. In the end , with their bizarre billing that no one can understand they managed to charge me about £50 which took me endless phone calls and a lot of hassle to finally get back. I would not do another trial as it is not worth all the trouble (and i cancelled on time and everything)
#35
I emailed I hate talking to these people. They said not on account. I emailed back that I was unhappy. They rang me 9.02pm I was on the phone half an hour but actually got a result, They are giving it to me 1/2 price for 3 months and he gave me £24 credit so it works out free (I'll be paying 27.50 instead of £22 so not sure how he arrived at £24 credit but it seems to be in my favour) He even told me what day I have to ring to cancel and is sending me a confirmation email so I'm not confused! :) TY
#36
will try in the morning as off to bed,but great if you get it!!
#37
Nice one :)
#38
this offer is customer specific, full brief now is if it aint on the account the customer not getting it! I could tell its going to be yet another busy night at work 2nite!
#39
I've just emailed them. Typical how some people get these special offers and never others.. I wanna try out the movies! And if any good I would even consider keeping over christmas
#40
I got a call.. well quick!! They said this offer has run out, but they gave me 3 months worth of movies for £5 which i'm happy with as it covers me over christmas.. making my bill £27 a month.. but first bill wil be £49 as they take 2 months upfront.. which I don't get.. but i'll hopefully make sense when the bill is online :)
