Called Sky tonight to upgrade from a standard entertainment package to include sky sports for the Ryder Cup and was offered all sports channels for 3months for £10per month, asked about the movie channels and was also offered these for 3months at £3.50per month. Only issue was that I had to give Sky 31days notice to cancel the deal, so I'll call up after month 2 and give them notice to quit. Still better than paying full price!!

OP, how long have you been with Sky?

Don't know why this is being voted cold

Been with Sky for around 10years, generally dont take up any premium channels unless I can get a deal, but with the Ryder Cup, Champions League and the movies thrown in for half price, seemed like a deal to me.

i'm going to do this, been with sky for over a year now and have HD and sky+ in another room so pay about £40.00 a month, UFC has been bought by sky sports now so i would love to get sky sports for the ultimate fighter series!!!!

good deal and worth posting to prompt people to ring and ask - after all if you don't ask you don't get. Sky are looking for 10m customers by Christmas I have been informed so they won't be wanting to lose any custom, so deals should be there....

Just switched over to Sky sports 4 and picked up new series of The Ultimate Fighter, thought this was on ESPN - RESULT!!!

Is just ultimate fighter, not the PPVs, ESPN has them for the time being

I phone Sky up every 6 months and ask nicely (i.e not threaten to quit stright off the bat) can they do something about the bill. Worst you will get told is no.

like you only get something if there is a deal on

I normally do is ask if there is half price deal beginning of October, Sky normally do deals for 3 months just perfect till the new year...all the footy and films at xmas ........ don't forget to cancel at the beginning of December they require 1 Months notice for cancellation, otherwise you get charged full price for January

They will only give you this offer if it's on your account, every account have different offers on their account every month, you just have to phone them to see what is on there, this is not a deal this is just something that might be sitting there on your account and you don't know about it.

Yeah watching on your computer a grainy 6" picture that stutters every 5 seconds is the way to go.

Account specific - had these myself in the past, even had movies for 3mnths for £1 a month before now.

UFC is still on ESPN for PPV events, only TUF has moved to Sky Sports.

I have just rung up (I'm with them 10 years) and was told there is no such offer. I spoke with two different operators and both said they know nothing of such an offer and did I get anything in the post.

Guess it's just a hit and miss

Just re-rang up there now and got the offer. Sky is a shambles!! Thanks for the heads up OP.

This is a first, quoting my own post (_;)

Just phoned up and asked about the deal and got it. £10 a month for three months.

Rangers v Bursaspor just about to start !! RESULT

Anyone got the number you need to ring ???, seem to be going round
in circles trying to find it..
#18
I think the reason that it is so hit and miss may be that each operator is given a number of deals they can issue each week. If you get through to one that has already exhausted their quota then you are out of luck.

Can't remember the number offhand, but what I done was went to the Sky Sports channel and the number is onscreen, then went through the system to add or remove channels or packages.

Thanks for the posting the offer - just rang sky and its still on.

So just upgraded to get both sky sports and sky movies for half price for the next 3 months (£13.50 instead of £27 a month). The lady was very helpfull and even told me the precise date I needed tio ring in December if I wanted to cancel at the end of the offer.

I got this offer confused when I phoned as I had seen a few different offers available, our bill is normally £22 per month for 4 of the packs, and I told the nice man on the phone that a friend had got a leaflet saying get sky movies and sports half price for 6 months, and could we have this offer as well, to which they done with no messing around, but they done it as the full package half price so now have 4 packs, all sports, all movies inc Disney Cinemagic for just £24.50, brilliant for an extra £2.50 :):):)

Edited By: vickywil5 on Oct 15, 2010 11:31: missed a bit out of what i wrote

Confirmed, movies & sports £13.50/month extra instead of £26, for 3 months. Cancel after second bill to not keep it. He did say it was for new customers but sounds like it isn't. I got this on approx 13/10/2010.
