SKY - Pay Once Watch Forever Packs were reduced to £30 each from £70 in my local Asda Store. This includes sky dish, sky box and remote and 4 months worth of free Sky TV. I think you would find these at the electrical counter/desk. If they are priced as £70, it might be worth getting them to scan it.

Forgot to mention first time round - you can cancel without penalty after four months and you keep the dish and box/remote.

Thats pretty cheap TBH!

Well considering sky+HD was on for about £10.50 per month just a short while ago with free sky+HD box and free installation, this is not a good deal.

The SKY+HD box itself is worth £150 itself, never mind the installation costs.

What are you on about?

This isn't HD & that deal isn't even on so why bring it up? it's £30 for the dish/box + 4months watching. Good deal :)

Have you got the product code so I can ring my local asda to see if they stock it?

Thanks

I have sky+HD, I got it on the employee code deal that I found on these forums, and yes it was a very good deal. This however is £30 one off fee for a dish/box (installation?) to be used for effectively freeview. For someone not wanting a TV subscription, and needing a digital aerial soon, this could be a very good deal.

Hi - I never bought it myself as I did benefit from the HD and half price offer mentioned by another poster but thought it was good enough to post. Im sorry, I therefore havent got the product code.

Point = missed.

I don't think sky are still honoring this deal any more?

Fair point, but you're still tying yourself in to a 12 month contract, and which is more isn't the £10.50 p/m charge what Sky charges its customers for HD anyway? I've had Sky on the phone recently doing their quarterly sales pitch to us, and they're still not offering anywhere near enough to tempt me to sign back up with them. Until such time as they show some flexibility with their ridiculous installation charge, and remove the levy on decoding HD on their HD boxes I will continue to ignore them
#10
ok me ignorent here but what's "remove the levy on decoding HD on their HD boxes" ?

Remove the £10 charge for HD viewing.

surely Asda wouldn't be able to sell it, if that were case ?
#13
Does anyone know if this includes installation?

Yes
#16
Got this myself when i first got sky

Includes installation / dish AND box and 4 months of free viewing

A normal satellite install is £100 by itself normally to give an idea of how much of a bargain this is! Voted hot
#17
If they are still being honoured by Sky then this is a great deal for someone struggling with Freeview reception or keen to try Freesat. It costs around £100 for an installer to come supply and fit a dish so even disregarding the box and sub it is great for some people.

I called Asda Hyson Green in Nottingham and the person there said she had never heard of this product. Which store did the OP get this from?
#20
are they still giving out old sky or sky+ boxes?

I thought HD boxes were the norm now.... if thats the case, this is a cracking deal

They're not, this will NOT work at all.

Not 12months AFAIK, can cancel before the 4months is up for no tie-in (??)

Got my pack for 1/2 price for 6months when ringing to enquire about cancelling, wanted HD but agree that I'm not paying £10/m for it!

whats the story with honuring it then? Probably worth it for the hardware but not so hot if they won't give you the 4months viewing!
#23
a good deal. used sky box costs minimum £20-30 and this deal can give new box + dish for same price. voted hot.
#24
some good and bad thing about the deal

Bad: OP has actually not bought the product but he found it out about it on other forum so no product code or anything.

Good: If you can get it for £30.00, its brill deal at least for all the people who bought the LG LCD from Argos a couple of days ago which has built in freesat receiver. It will save on Dish installtion which Argos charge like anything + 4 months free sky

Plus anybody who want to have it to be used as freesat dish to watch world cup footy in HD.
#25
Remember that if your an existing SKY user, you CANNOT use this service. Found this out last year when I tried to redeem it.

Thanks Goodman, but slightly confused on this thread - wish people wouldn't have such contradicting views!

Basically, i was one of the people that bought a LG tv from argos a few days ago and its coming on Friday. Now we already have a Sky HD dish set up for the tv downstairs, but this TV is is for upstairs, and need a dish for it - dont fancy fannying about on ladders and paying £10-30 for a signal splitter or whatever.

question - is this a good solution for essentially a £30 dish and skybox including installation?
#27
this would be greta deal if it is available nationally but doubt it

Go to west bridgford. Hyson green is a rubbish one - everybody whordes everything
#29
bargain
#30
Sorry to be thick here , but could you just have the box for freeview then? and not continue to pay sky anything?
#31
Is there any contract with this?

I tried to put up a satellite myself for freesat but not sure I've aligned it very well. I've injured my legs so no chance of me being able to correct it now.

I want a reliable satellite install for my PVR - but no chance on earth am I subscribing to the propaganda that murdoch sends out.
Even if he came around to my house and gave me money.
#32
Great deal. After 4 months you can decide to get a freesat HD recorder.
#33
I had this for a while, was pretty decent, tho be warned you dont get Dave, Virgin1 or Sky Sports news as you do on standard freeview
#34
i really dont think they are doing this anymore, in our currys digital, we took these off the shelf quite a few months ago and the SKU has been removed from our system. we were told it was all finished now and we couldnt sell them even if we wanted to
#35
If you are NOT a sky subsriber (or past subscriber) or you have a seperate landline number then it will work.
I bought this recently from Argos and they HAVE to honour it as it has a one off code in the box, nothing else.
The terms state you must provide bank details or they will not install and they will start to charge if you do not cancel on the second month as they want 28 days notice.........
A very good way of getting freesat, heat added.
#36
has anyone actually found out if this deal is available nationally yet?
#37
I don't know whether this is available or not in Asda.

However, I can confirm that I bought this package about 2 years ago and let's you get digital TV freeview channels free-of-charge WITH dish installation PROVIDING you are a new Sky customer. And you get a Sky Pack (Entertainment/Nature/whatever else is on offer not Sports!) for 4 free months inclusive.

MUCH CHEAPER THAN GETTING SOMEONE TO INSTALL A DIGITAL AERIAL FOR FREEVIEW
(I bought it when it was £70 I think about 2 years back and it's still all working)
#38
Once the footy season draws to a close there's sweet FA, (pardon the pun) to watch on sky so they offer these kinds of deals until the football season comes around once again.
#39
good deal if you were wanting freesat but don't have the dish. You could take this offer up and change over after 4 months
#40
Yet another hot deal that probably doesnt exist, no mention of a store, other people stating the offer is not valid, yet people still vote hot without any proof...

As great as this site can be - these kind of deals just pee me off :)
