The rev 8 won't work on all tvs if you have a new tv then it's best to get a rev 9 .

Get rev 9

Just got one.

Rev 8 works fine on my one year old tv.
#11

#12
Got 1 me these for 4.99 from 7dayshop a while back bit over responsive but you get used to it. Great 2nd or replacement remote. Heat added
#13
Think I would prefer the rev9 but this is a good deal, my 'select' button seems to have packed in, why don't sky make them kid, or more specifically, jam proof???? ;)
#15
Not sure if its well known but Sky do replace the remotes if they fail.

I called sky and told them mine had broken (batteries were lasting 2-3 weeks every time). They sent me a new one for free in next day post.

please be aware these aren't original remote's, they are "original replacement" and pretty poor compared to the genuine ones from sky.
the sensitivity of the signal range is pretty crap.

Is that within 12mths of installation? Only asking because they generally say that the equipment is yours after 12mths and refuse to touch it unless you pay their ridiculous charge (which a threat to cancel usually removes of course!! ;)).

Agree, but good second or reserve option, originals are so damn expensive!! :(

That's what has happened to our one, you have to really press the button down hard to get it to work. There weren't any food stuffs involved with our one going wrong though... remotes must just be poor - you'd think they'd make them to last more than 18 months

Cheers. Ordered.

My Sky HD one stopped working the other day. Rubbish remotes as that's the 2nd one in 2 years to just stop working. Don't think I've ever had another device where the remote neede replacing.

Your lucky then my dad has been with sky since they launched they wont give him anything and they always want some form of payment to have something replaced.

All skys products are poorly built i think this is done on purpose so once warranty is up you fund them to sort it out.

I believe you've ordered a standard Sky+ remote, not a SkyHD one.

Does it matter as I don't pay for HD? Not a big fan of TV, it's really for the little un so she can have the kids stuff. I thought it covered all Sky boxes.

My select button was playing up so I called Sky to get a new one - when they ran me through a diagnostic I was suspicious but by doing the following it actually fixed it!

* Press and hold the select button
* Take one of the batteries out (still holding the select button)
* Wait for 90 seconds (still holding the select button)
* Put the battery back in, whilst still holding the select button
* Release the select button

This seems to completely reset the remote - so I had to set it back up to control the TV.
