good price for Sky+ remote
#2
I paid about £22 for one of these a couple of weeks ago.

Felt it was overpriced but had no option at the time as my existing one had broken.
#3
Wow I didnt realise you had to buy another one if an existing one broke, thanks for that.heat added

paid £9 for one of these on ebay, it was a really bad fake. nice price for a real one.
#5
call sky and say... i want to cancel... they ask why, you say your remote has stopped working, they send you remote (give you the money to buy one)
#6
Is there anywhere I can get just the Sky Eye cheap? Since I went HD the box has been very slow to react to my remote and the word is it'll go better if I double the I/R receivers.

Cheapest I've seen from a nationwide highstreet retailer is Tesco @ £9.76 LINKY

wow didn't realise how much they were i got 2 spares that came when i replaced my box might sell them lol
#9
Lots of £2.99 "Ross" ones still available at Homebargains. Be warned though, the layout of keys is a bit odd.
Strangely they've sold out of the old black ones for the non-plus digiboxes.

my sky+ box seems slow(ish) when using the remote, it's not a massive delay but you do notice it. i might try what you suggested.

bought one of these for abouy £9 on ebay, not a fake, so cold from me
#12
Sky installer guys order them as spares for free, normally they sell them for under £10 on ebay, or if you see a Sky van they will give you one for £10.

It's all well and good saying that. At least this is a hassle free reliable source. Sainsbury's are doing really good deals on non food items lately. for example the Sony Batteries they're selling for 58p (AAA 8 pk) and Sony AA 8 pk for 99p. The AA's will go with this remote. Heat given.

You will get a new official one (or a HD one that also works for sky+) for £8 or £9 BIN on ebay, a fiver if you are willing to actually bid on an auction.

they are advertised as "offical replacement sky+ remotes" on ebay and they're rubbish, badly made pieces of junk. mine went in the bin, avoid the ones on ebay.

[CENTER]Well i've had 4 Sky+ remotes from ebay and they all worked well for a little while!

I have also had 3 Virgin remotes and 2 TV remotes lately as my little "puppy" (on the avatar)

Is 1 year old this month and she loves to play with remotes when daddy is out,

I dont mind her eating the remotes but when she farts the tv changes channel (lol).

If you are in a rush for a remote then this is a really good deal, but there are new ones on ebay cheaper.

You got a direct link on how to update the software on Sky+ boxes?

can't remember where i found it, unplug your sky+ box and hold down the back up button on the front then plug the power back in while still holding the back up button, after about a minute the lights on the front will come on and it'll say updating on the screen, takes about 10 minutes.

I didn't say they were a high street retailer, I just posted the price.

Sorry if my better deal offended you :p

You did'nt say it but quoted my link which did, so it's not like for like. I'm sure there are quite a few places online that will do them cheaper delivered - HERE for example at £6.28 :)

Who's offended - apples and pears that all

Sorry you are wrong. Go with a decent seller with a feedback rating and lots of satisfied customers and you will get an official legit one for the prices I quoted. Sounds like you just got unlucky.

i purchased it from a seller with 3470 feedback, i'm not new to ebay i know what to buy and what not to buy. this was advertised as an "official sky+ replacement remote" and it wasn't, fact.
#28
So everyone who gave good feedback was fooled? I have had 5 HD remotes off ebay, all cheap and genuine.

the feedback isn't just for sky+ remotes, he/she has sold other items. there probably are some real ones on ebay but there are more fake ones. many people have probably never seen a real one before, where as i had 4 others to compare the ebay one to.
