Would you get the £75 bill credit even if only paying £9 for the original bundle?
#2
Yes you can get the £75 credit with any of the bundles

I rang to cancel yesterday and i've been with sky for 15+ years and have TV, broadband and phone line.

All I got, and they wouldn't budge, was:

- £30 Per month for Boxset's bundle for 10 months (original price £38)
- Upgrade to Fibre unlimited at £20pm and no activation fee and £60 credit.
- £14.99 per month for line rental for 10 months (original price £17.40)

They wouldn't even put my deal to 12 months. I am still on a cooling off period. Should I cancel and wait for this?

All I got, and they wouldn't budge, was:
- £7.60 off the Boxsets bundle for 10 months (original price £38)
- Upgrade to Fibre unlimited at £20pm and no activation fee and £60 credit.
- £2.41 off line rental (original price £17.99) for 10 months.

Yes you should go through to the last team on the phone, you must be prepared to leave Sky however this is where you get the best deals. The first agent on the phone won't be able to give you this deal however the cancellations team will be able to this. You can always say that you'll think about it last minute and you'll call them back if you do bottle it.

I have never had sky at full price, I always had the full package also but with a minimum of 50% off for 12 months, I got it at 60% off this year so for all sports and movies including HD is £29.40ish.

I phoned yesterday and said I wanted to cancel and all they offered me was 20% off for 10 months but I would have to renew for 12 months contract, so I have cancelled and will wait to see what now comes in the post.

yesterday I was trying to get the mse broadband deal and whilst talking to sky I was offered free sky tv, because and I quote, "we are desperate".

Why is this cold ?

I cancelled Sky TV a couple of weeks ago - currently offering 50% off TV package on the app on my phone, and 60% off on the sky web page. However, I think that's only off the TV package, and not HD or multiroom. That works out about £20 off my current bill, which is still more than I paid last year.

I still have Sky Fibre, but that will probably go after the school holidays at the start of October, and head off to a brave new Freesat and IP TV mix.

Thanks. I've actually renewed as it was still better than the price I was paying. However, as I'm in a cooling off period, i'm wondering whether I should call again and say why I didn't get offered this and then say well actually i'm gonna cancel it (if they don't play ball) and see what happens.

I do want sky but don't see why I should still be paying sky high for it if they are doing it cheaper for everyone else (excuse the pun!).

Ditto. Spoke to an advisor when my 50% deal (£50 a month for line rental, broadband, sports, movies, etc) finished after 12 months, they wouldnt give me the discount again so I asked what they had added over the last 12 months to warrant me paying full whack to which they couldnt reply. I even offered to pay 5% more for inflation bringing it to £55 a month which they declined so cancelled the lot. Got medium fibre 30mb+ broadband on talktalk and a kodi stick and never looked back. Kids arent as dependent on tv anymore and the xbox online is miles better at the faster speed. 2 months later and they sent me this 60% off and £75 credit deal but Im not going back. Absolute joke company with no consistency.

Sky are like this, that's why I cancelled my sky as unfair to charge me full price and some people get 80% off. It's been about 2 months and I've had a offer of 50% off but I'm not budging till I get the 80% off!

Go through with leaving, it is just before and after actually leaving they bring out the guns.

I have been left 2 months now and they have chucked this at me plus an extra 15% off I still refused.

I'm currently paying £30 for family bundle, broadband and line rental. Got a month left on the 12 month contract. Do you reckon I'll be able to get it cheaper when I cancel with 31 days notice?
#18
Same as you Charliewashington. 20% off. Time to go elsewhere or do without. I've got the full tv pack with 2 multi rooms and. at £104 a month I think I'm offski.

Just to confirm what others have said, to get the best deals you have to actually cancel and then via chat or after it's actually cancelled you will get the cracking deals.

The best deals cannot be had unless you actually cancel!

This is a good deal folks no idea why it's cold -'see the misc thread with 3000+ comments for evidence - if you actually cancel you can get original+sports for £14pm plus unlimited fibre inc line rental for an extra tenner. Cracking deal.

Give your notice 31 days before expiry.

Wait 2-3 weeks.

Check My Sky they will offer 60% in a pop-up.

Use the chat to us option that comes with this specific pop up (not anything else).

Hold out until they offer 60% + at least £50 credit.

Be prepared to let it cancel and be without Sky TV service for a couple of days if you want to wish to push for 60% + £100 or better.

Thanks a lot. It's my first TV provider and although it's a pain to leave, money is precious :)

Gave notice last week. Was immediately offered 50% of tv for 10 months, and unlimited fibre (including line rental) for additional £20 a month. On sky service, i already have 50% off tv for 12 months i can take.

Why is this cold ?

as its technically not a deal, this takes some work and there is an ongoing thread in misc. not saying it doesn't work, it does in the last 15 years paid full price for about 6 months and had discounts up to 75% off for 2 years before and now its easier thank ever to get a discount.

HD is only on the sports channels now, its free on everything else if you have the family package. multiscreen is normally a separate discount and at the moment you have to be lucky to get it.

Will these offers work the same if you decide to keep sky broadband but be prepared to cancel SKY completely? I'd happily go without everything but can't be without the Internet as I need it to run my business...

Indeed. And you probably won't have to leave. Currently watching the footie paying 80% less than they expected me to when my last deal finished (bill was apparently going to be £80pm but reduced to £14pm. Took about 2 x 10 mins of effort (phoning to cancel TV and then chatting to agent online).

Honestly, get through to cancellations and give them your 30 days notice. I guarantee that you will get a letter every week asking//begging you to stay with 50% off

Careful, I didn't receive anything, 4 months later I got a letter stating/ offering half price, I did contact them at this point and they even stated that the letter I received and mentioned was made up! Even when I sent a copy in with their envelope! Nuts!

I canceled a week last sunday and received a text offering 60% off ANY tv bundle so I've took that up but I'm not tied into a new contract. No deals on BB and Phone so I've moved them to BT with a £215 cash back deal with £165 Amazon vouchers, for Phone, BB, TV (free) and Sim Only deal.

Still have 50% on the app and 60% on the web page....

Still leaving and saving the pennies after we buy a freesat recorder.
