Aren't all sky prices going up after September?
#2
I'm always wary about leaving BT for my main phone line. I've heard many a compalint about Sky Talk. Also I use call override (1899, etc) for nearly all daytime calls and all international calls. Sky Talk do not allow this and each call has a 9.5p cionnection plus call charges.

Just thought I'd put that in

They should also advertise that you can only get these speeds if you have LLU in your phone exchange, remember is sky owns your phone line and you move to another provider do you have to pay BT to take the line back as most providers require a BT line.

I think so... I had an email from sky a couple of months ago saying that it was going up by £2.50 a month in september.

I think the free BroadBand is limited to 2gb traffic per month. Wouldn't be enough for me.

the only problem is you would have to have one of those ghastly dishes stuck to the side of the house

It's just another marketing ploy, showing the prices with 1 entertainment pack, knowing that people will add at least a few more.

I’d always be cautions of anything Sky say, they’ll probably wait until they have enough customers to meet their targets and then start charging for the broadband unless you subscribe to something else like HD just like they did a year ago whey they told everybody that they would charge them for the “free” broadband unless they took Sky Talk.

Everybody I know that moved their phones to Sky very quickly moved them back to BT when they got their first bills.

Mine going up by £1 but i have no sports or movies.

Also sky are no longer fitting plus boxes, so on this deal you will get a HD box and all the frree HD channels as well. A friend of mine just had this deal and thats what he got but goes up to £23 in 3 months time.

Off topic: Anyone on those half price for a year offers actually managed to retain that pricing?

I have all of it.... movie's, sport, talk, broadband...

however I think I can reduce my unlimited broadband down by £2.50 to £7.50 by extending by 12 months....

To clarify, the BB is on a BT line, unless you specify you want to use Sky Talk's own line. So you aren't moving away.

Yes, you will get access to HD channels (says in fine print). But the offer is Sky Plus boxes fitted free until 23rd August 2010. Also this is indicated for a 12 month period, not just 3 months.

I have already said in the deal that to get 6 entertainment packs costs just +£5 = £24pm.

Sounds like they weren't using it for the free calls then in evenings or weekends. Any other calls I make on my mobile with my free minutes. Come on, people are a little bit more savvy than you are giving them credit for!

2GB monthly download limit or 7.50 a month extra for unlimited broadband.

thanks for the tip, bit is there anyway of confirming we'll get a HD box ?

HD is what I want but I don't want to be forking out extra if it will come as part of this deal

Yes I know Sky Broadband is with BT. However this deal is for the whole package including sky talk. I'd jump at having sky broadband sadly they haven't done LLU ay my local exchange. It's the Sky Talk I'm wary about signing up to.

Nobody mentioned up to £115 cashback @ TCB oO and that would just about cover the HD sub. :D
