I phoned Sky to cancel my Sky Sports & Movies.

After a brief conversation I was offered Sky Sport & Sky Movies for the next 3 months at £8 per month.

So you're now paying £8 per month for something you don't want?
#2
this is for individuals, as it doesnt mean to say everyone will get this deal!
#3
ring a few times, speak to someone different and youll prob get it

I think you are missing the point. At £24pm its a bit much for a hardly used subscription. But at £8pm I am happy.

Like I always say....you were only offered this because you have the choice to change to cable in your area. When ringing up to cancel, SKY simply plug in your details to see if cable is avaialble in your area, and if it is and to "stop" you taking this other service, they`ll offer you the deals to keep you. I can`t get cable and when I ring up, all I get is..."OK...please go..."!!

I do not have the choice to change to cable. It is in my area, but not in my street.

Remember to phone to cancel before the last month or you will have to pay for the following month full price!

I got a letter through offering £5 movies for 3 months over xmas as I cancelled about a month ago

PS I hate sky with a passion but I can't be bothered to change as I'm used to the set up

These aren't deals, I wish people would stop posting these. These are negotiated between you and sky, not everyone can get them .It depends on who you talk to at Sky and the situation with your subscription.

This post probably gets more money for sky through their ****** 0870 phone line than they give away in 'deals'. Also remember many sky deals require you to sign up for a further 12 months subscription.

Sub Zero here.

I had the same offer after i keep telling sky since i got it that i dont see the point in having movies as i dont have the time to watch everything i want now! They told me i can use my sky+ to record one channel while i watch another (as if i hadnt figured that out). I think they were missing the point.

Anyway its cold from me because i've been offered it cheaper.

It's not a deal but on the Weekend I'll be getting calls asking for this offer :-P thanks!

Think about it. You're a Sky sales monster, and someone phones you asking for this offer. You're not stupid or ignorant. You know this person hasn't just asked for this offer off the top of their head. Obviously someone or some forum has told them all about it. The fact this person actually asked or pushed you towards making some sort of offer, tells you one thing: they may say they don't want Sky, but really, blatantly obviously they do. They just want it cheaper like that bloke off the forum. So do you cave? Hell no, you call their bluff. Tell them you have no power to make such offers, do as they ask and cancel their contract immediately. Then wait for them to either backtrack or phone up again having changed their mind.

If you want to stand any chance of taking advantage of one of these sorts of deals, play it cool. Don't be obvious.

I would like to apologise to all the moaning face folk on here for trying to save somebody money.

I really wonder about the voting on here sometimes.

Hi guys,

Just wanted to warn you - Check your bill on this offer!

I phoned on the 21/12 - got the offer - £5 extra for Sky movies/sports - for 3 or 4 months..

Noticed my DD was through the roof this month - Basically they hadn't applied to offer onto my account! :?

Just phoned & waiting to see what they come back with...
