As an existing customer I phoned sky to tell them I wasn't happy with how much I was paying for my tv package. they offered me 20% off for 12 months or 25% off for 6 months. you will only get a discount off the tv packages. no discount for any cost of extra boxes. hope this helps someone

not a deal,everyone would be offered a different deal if they were even offered 1.

Are you still in contract op? They offer discounts to people who could leave if they weren't happy with price. For those of us who are still in contract they'd probably just laugh, they've also just put the price up!!!

it is a deal you Muppet! I have a contract and they agreed to reduce my bill. but vote cold if you wish. your paying extra and I am not. they refer to it as a deal on the system and quoted it on separate occasions to different people

Totally agree with vics1712; they offer everyone a 'deal' if you contact them once your contract expires. I don't think discounts are offered at the same rate for everyone.

Do as others do
Near end of contract cancel deal
Go a month with nothing and wait for a decent deal
Currently have 75% off
Id never pay full price for sky

I have recently cancelled mine but rejoin this week with 50% off the sky world for £27.50 plus £10.25 HD plus free hd box and installation for multiroom £10 extra a month obviously for a total of £49.50 a month

I have sky world, 2 multi room boxes and an HD+ box.. I phoned up to give them a months notice to cancel, and 2 weeks before my notice ended they phoned me up and offered it me all for £58 per month for 12 months. I shall do the same when the 12 months is nearly up.. They even told me to..

called today & got my £18 a month tv package for £5 for next 3 months. They told me to callback after the 3 months, for the next offer.

I rang to cancel my HD subscription, they have given me HD channels free for a year, plus installed another skybox (free installation) and free multi room for a year

cold for me, they offered me nothing so i left. not a deal, a random customer retention. have some cold.

Canceled our sky 6 months agio and they keep pestering us try to gt us back ....... no going to happen. If they want to keep customers they need to reduce subscription rates.

It's not the subs rate so much, but the fact that I am among many many people who got HD when it came out, and have HD+ boxes that don't support the new features they keep advertising and want to charge £150.

I'm looking at a combination of Freesat and Netflix.

I'm looking at a combination of Freesat and Netflix.

Thats the way we went and to be honest it's much better .

Been with sky since day 1, had the full package, early adopter of their latest tech (my HD box cost me £199! not a freebie) on demand may be available on my box by Christmas although originally their info said I would need a new box (£49 for a new 1TB box, not the 2TB) they offered me 10% off for 6 months. So now with Freesat. Sky are so inconsistent.

been on 50% discount for the last 18 months but i had been with sky for 20 years paying full price!!,will be phoning again in march and see what they offer,if the answers nothing even after i say im leaving i can live without sky for the summer months at least.

This is not a deal as its always been a case of ring sky up and see what they offer and has been put on here loads of times.

Thanks for taking the time to post but really this is not a particularly good deal. My elderly parents have just secured 50% discount for the next 12-months (no further contract) without too much hassle and others have done a bit better.

Everyone has different criteria for what they consider a good deal and as long as you are happy then keep smiling ;)

Just phoned up to cancel my hd subscription and the didn't offer me anything! Was quite surprised but I can live without hd so f**k em

It's not rage. It's just that this is a good deal. 25% off is going to save me £60 over the next 6 months. But you guys vote it cold and that's that. Just sums up this site at times.

I think the cold voters are getting at the fact that this 'deal' is not available to everyone, it's an offer that Sky have given you rather than a national UK deal. I'm sure your post has made many people ring up to negotiate a new deal with Sky, so it was definitely worth posting.

My father rang up and they knocked £9 a month off his £55 bill and gave him a new hd box and hd with free installation. Worth a call if you have been paying full price for some time.

I've had to ring them 3 times before they gave me half price TV and HD package for 12mths, but not before I said I wanted to cancel and get my friend to sign up as new customer on the family and friend offer. Sometimes it depends on the rep and how bothered they are to help you. After asking his manager whether they can give me the offer rather than go through cancellation and then the set up again, I finally got what I wanted. Just goes to show they can always offer the best discount if you persist and threaten to really leave!
