Hi Had sky Q cancelled(all Sky) few days back during my cooling off period. Got email yesterday offering me 60% off for a year. Call sky today to get that I got this fantastic deal. Sky Q plus all channels including Sky sports HD and movies for £44 a month for 12 months. I paid £60 for installation of Sky Q when it was installed.

I am pretty surprised with this deal if you wouldn't believe i can post a copy of confirmaton email or screen shot from my sky account.

I'm awaiting sky Q install on communal dish, they said can be done, just have to get dish upgraded?

£298 initial fee plus £90 per month for me with absolutely no budging from that price, unsurprisingly they can go swing! What makes it worse is I pay multiroom currently so they charge £99 each for the two mini boxes but if I didnt have multiroom currently they would be £30 each - go figure!
#5
Reports on here that they are also giving account credit for Q as they do with other discounts.

You need to put in your cancellation first.

I still think these retention deals should be posted in a discussion forum. It's not really something I can vote hot as it will be based upon length of contract, location & alternative suppliers, channel subscriptions etc. Too many variables.
Presumably it's based on an algorithm and not luck of the draw with customer services.

Info like this always helpful and can never understand the cold votes. Presumably if you get the full package you'll also be entitled to the free fibre when subscribing to Sky Sports (you'd still need to pay line rental).

Unless it's sky and none of those things matter, just if your in your cancellation period or actually fully cancelled or not.Sky do not value loyalty or spending in the slightest.

If you have sky at the moment and you want SkyQ check your online account to upgrade to SkyQ. it should be free, you only pay installation fee of £40.00. I myself have the full package and multiroom for £38.80 and have just added SkyQ for free.

But then what happens to people in your building who have older satellite boxes?

Totally agree! Been with sky for almost 18 years, full tv and phone, broadband etc. Called to get a reduction and was offered a "massively generous" 20% off everything, asked why new customers get more than half price off and was told it all depends on what promotion is running, pointed out that 50% off was still running as I'd had a leaflet through the door that morning, still no more than the 20%. Said I still wanted to cancel and they let me without hesitation. Don't think I'll ever go back to sky again after that.

They have to leave the community.

You can get Sky Q with all channels for £35 a month for 12 months if you look around the internet.
I have the £12 a month package and it's good.

Communal distribution does require an upgrade, usually free.
Then you can obtain this offer

Mine was cancelled because the engineer had to add something to the Sat to allow Q but then that means people with normal sky won't get a signal only those with Q will BUT the adviser said Sky is working on 'some box' that is placed on the sat that will not mess up normal sky box signal so both systems work without issue. Might be out for 2016 early 2017.

Not entirely true, do a bit of digging and you'll see what I mean.

Your dish will need to have a hybrid LNB fitted to be able to watch both Sky Q and normal sky. It's because of the different frequencies they run at.
I had a chat with the installer and he fitted one for me, meaning I can still use my freesat box.
I don't have a link to share, as it was a friends and family deal and has now expired, look on twitter etc and you will find a code.

I've cancelled and took a 50% discount now at least 5 years running. NEVER been offered above 50% or £250 / £125 cashback. I think some people just troll the sky deals to make people cancel when they will never get what someone else had.. 60% to retain a sky Q customer sounds reasonable, they already fleeced them on the original 12 month contract I'd expect.
