  No, this is an extra which won't work without the Portal of Power. You need to buy Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure for whichever console you have.And you need to delete 2 of your 3 posts.

  very tempted - son obsessed bout frst game when on offer at pcworld found here for xmas - now wanting to add ths ....currently 39.99 on amazon but has the preorder polcy so f reduces charged less - just a bit concerned about ssues lot of peeps on the forums have had wth sains preorders!!!
  Also do they charge on pre rders at time of order or actually when dspatched?
  any advce?

  Sainsburys charge on dispatch and you can cancel your our order online anytime before then.
  
  Can't see it being any cheaper than £31.99 for the Wii version which I have pre-ordered though.

  Alternatively you can get the Skylanders Giants Starter Pack which includes the Portal of Power (the bit you need to get you started).
