For kids. Might want to make that clear in the title. Its for 3-5 or 5-8 year olds.
Still hot for kids to play around over the summer.

No doubt a bargain, but there is a reason for that. How many kids of that age are going to be playing with a hard cricket ball? Not many I think. So hardly anyone going to need these.Still voted hot anyway ;) as a crazy price.

You are missing the point!! its all about getting used to the equipment, running with pads. If there was a reason as you cliam then why would the other sets be selling for £20+

Cos they are available upto youth sizes not just 8 years old like this deal, which is still a good deal hence me voting it hot.

I'd expect kids that age play with a tennis or spongeball. The pads would just be to look the part as kids like to do and to get them used to wearing protection.

Hard ball is fine for practice etc, can't keep 'em wrapped up in cotton wool forever.

I picked up a set which I had delivered into a store a few days ago. It's a good set. Still had the older price tags, the highest of which was £34.99.
