"Trust me, I know what I'm doing!"

Unleashed on an unsuspecting television audience in the fall of 1986, Sledge Hammer centers on a renegade police detective (David Rasche) whose credo is shoot first and ask questions six months later. Armed with his trusty .44 magnum, the eponymous hero doles out his unique brand of justice to any piece of criminal scum who is unlucky enough to cross his path. The recipient of critical praise and much controversy, this comic spoof of DIRTY HARRY has enjoyed a growing cult status since it left the air in 1988. This 4-volume collection includes the entire first season of the all-nonsense cop show.

I have noticed the trend, but I thought a few people may have forgotton about this clasic show and also were not aware that it was quite cheap, so I posted the cheapest price.

Fair enough - it's one of those threads where people will vote hot based on the item rather than the price - tends to happen with popular / fondly remembered stuff! :)

Bizarre and funny show, cheers for your deal-hunting efforts Batman

And it is a classic! good find !

"a classic" ?!!!

I think Police Squad (episodes viewable free on Youtube) is much funnier!

I tried these a few years back and to be honest, they hadn't dated well and weren't as good as I fondly remembered.

That might be me so no vote.

Absolutely - a class show. Used to be on in the middle of the night and I had to record it on a knackered old VHS, as I recall. Top posting

Used to rush to the VCR to Record this and Married With Children whenevr I heard the music for the show start, wanted to crank up the sound, but these shows used to be on really late.

I rememeber it on ITV around 12.30 AM on a Sunday morning, used to watch it after a night on the lash, and recoreded it on VHS, married with children as said was on either before or after.

really underated shows and imo still very funny.

Just 2 series, and series 2 is also available for £10.99 @ Play.com .

Nice find!
Even better than when it was on tv. They have remastered it and removed the annoying 'laughter track' which was so popular with tv comedys at the time.

Just found it a little cheaper for you all.

From now until midnight on Bank Holiday Monday you can get 10% off everything @ TheHut.com.

So it is listed at £10.43 add the discount code Bankhol10 will take it down to £9.39.

You can also get 5% Quidco back so a possible further 0.47p off making it £8.92.

Using the above method you can get Series 2 for £10.74 or £10.20 after Quidco.
