I think the 2 long planks under the small slats is a sign of solidness.. my current one has just one in the middle

you'll probably find thats the norm for a decent king size with slats, a double usually only has one centre support.

Beware of this company. They sell seconds and damaged goods and refuse to replace them once delivered. I would never use them again.

And you have to pay the return costs of postage. Some of these items are very heavy and if you have to return a few pieces this can easily run into a couple of hundred pounds which they refuse to reimburse.

This company is dishonest in that it knows it's selling rejected/imperfect goods yet claims otherwise.

is the headboard easy clean ?

I have yet to find a wooden bed that can tolerate my activity levels without going creaky within weeks.

Labour? As in you're having a home birth?

Seriously, I need another solid wooden bed. With all the notches in the bedpost of my last one, it's now a pile of sawdust on my floor.

Lol, Anchorman..nice! brought a little chuckle to an otherwise miserable day.

Saw this offer in the Evening Standard, looks to me that the wood on the head and footboards are quite thin wood. Hard to tell from the images tho.

We are moving to a new house soon, and I had picked out a few bits of furniture from this site.
The prices looked excellent, only £2000 for all the peices we wanted. Then I started searching for reviews of this site, and was well put off. Lots of people with very bad service from them.I have started looking around local shops instead, the prices are a fair bit higher, but at least you can see what your getting. Not worth the risk of hassle if you ask me.

I have used them 3 times now for their 'Mantis' range of which the quality is sublime.

My tip - inspect the items when they deliver as you can refuse damaged goods

Great deal from a company I will deal with again and again.

HEAT!

This is one UGLY bed
#33
Absolute chaos and low prices not worth the bother that ensues; you end up paying a fortune in telephone calls trying to sort things out and emails are not answered! The company has over-committed itself and appears unable to deliver at any time let alone before Christmas. Reviews by customers who have been successful are encouraging but unfortunately I face a third night sleeping on the floor and even when the bed does arrive the mattress will not be with it. Currently trying to cancel the whole order. The problem is compounded because my dogs have been stuck in the house for 2 days going stir crazy whilst I hang around waiting for the delivery that has failed to materialize

Avoid at all costs..
#34
Another voice to the "Avoid at all costs" chorus. Not surprisingly received damaged and essentially second hand goods. Also don't bother rushing to buy in the "sale" since the sale is permanently on - these are the regular prices. Another irritating thing about this company (there are many) is that they seem to enjoy posting a lot of their own reviews on reviews websites (ciao.co.uk). The days you'll lose waiting in for deliveries, waiting in for returns collections, cost of returns service (I think it was 30 quid per box), time spent on phone calls, cumulation of blood pressure, etc - this is the company that the phrase "false economy" was designed for.

Have a look at www.heirloombeds.co.uk
They are a bit more expensive than this deal but otherwise are excellent value, £500 will get you a very very good mahogany bed that would be well over £1k in John Lewis. We have the superking Cambrian and it is amazing quality.
Only £100 more for the king size over this deal, and guaranteed quality and no damage on delivery.

Your one personal experience??
I just had a delivery from them and I am very pleased, furniture quality is good and I will use them again. AND Quidco paid before goods were delivered... :whistling:

Cold from me based on more poor reviews of this company than good.
