For those who do exercise the slim fast shakes are a good recovery drink.

That would be far too sensible an idea though. The masses won't go for it....

Much better to appeal to their "quick fix" desires and make a fast buck out of them.

You just can't get any simpler than this simple equation:

Eat less calories than you expend through daily caloric body requirements + exercise and you will lose fat.

In short:

1 - Eat less
2 - Exercise more

Why exercise won't make you thin

Got a few pounds to lose? Cancel the gym membership. An increasing body of research reveals that exercise does next to nothing for you when it comes to losing weight. A result for couch potatoes, yes, but also one that could have serious implications for the government's long-term health strategy

Exercise increases caloric expenditure, without question. The problem occurs whereby people are still not in a calorie negative state even with the increased expenditure. Why? Because they are STILL eating too much. It really is that simple.

what the hell do you know about it, how dare you make such a sweeping comment!!!! I use these shakes for reasons other than weight! You know nothing!! Get a life instead of criticising others!!

I'm not able to exercise like I use to due to spinal surgery . I used to run every day rock climb my life has been turned upside down. I have to take steroids for my lungs to work and I've gained 8 stone. I was looking at trying theses but due to people like you and your attitude to fat people I feel like pushing myself off cliff
