Might be a good deal for someone looking at a replacement. It was a black model and was brand new - only one left at the Kidderminster branch

Yeah would agree, the guy said it was found after a stock take, but you never know!

Damn, a brand new PS2 for only £30, if only I'd known a decade ago I'm sure I would have held out ;)

Tape it to the bottom of your PS3 to restore full backwards compatibility.

That's a stupid idea... The drive won't open. Heheh.

Great price though for whTs still a great console. Especially when doctored for avi playback.

Why? The PS2 is the most successful console (sales wise, and arguably games wise) of all time, and there are millions and millions out there. Whilst some of its games will fetch hundreds in years from now, the console itself won't because it was practically ubiquitous...
#11
Do they still make these?

sheerly for the point of having a brand new console, not about the value of it, just if your collecting its a ncie thing to have

I'm pretty sure they still make them, didn't it recently get released in South America?
Still sold several million this year, so unless Sony has a massive warehouse somewhere, they must be still manufacturing them on a small scale.

Yep, they keep on selling in smaller markets, in fact I think they only released the PS2 in some areas last year. If it's still selling, why stop making them? :D

If I'm not mistaken, Nintendo Japan were still making the NES until 2003, 20 years after it was first released. Not sure why they would.

From wiki:
In the wake of ever decreasing sales and the lack of new software titles, Nintendo of America officially discontinued the NES by 1995.[19] Despite this, Nintendo of Japan kept producing new Nintendo Famicom units until September 2003,[20] and continued to repair Famicom consoles until October 31, 2007, attributing the decision to discontinue support to an increasing shortage of the necessary parts

I can't believe they supported it for so long!

I've looked for these in the past. None were available in the various ones I tried.

The good old PS2 - amazing graphics back then but now even iPhone/Androids can match its graphics.

Who can remember the 8mb memory card LOL. Massive memory back then - these days 8gb isn't enough.
