Excuse my ignoarance, but does this just transmit the remote control signal, or the picture as well?

That remote looks pants, you can get a proper Sky remote and TV link cheaper on Ebay

This looks very much like the Magic Eye but for Sky+ (correct me if I'm wrong)

The problem I found with the Magic Eye type was that if you have a video or DVD recorder etc in the line after the Sky box then the coax will not send the signal through that device. The coax from the TV you are viewing in another room must connect directly to the Sky box or Sky+ box or it doesn't work.
