Bought an air cooler at B & Q (approx... 12' * 20' [inches]) for £14.99. It takes water in the bottom of the unit and uses it to reduce the air temperature of the air pulled through the unit...

They had a rack full at the store at silverlink (newcastle)

Amending the title a wee bit... :)

Just so people know....

Evaporative coolers increase humidity in the home or building. They cool the air by evaporating water (which has a cooling effect), then blow this air inside. In which case, the air has an increased moisture content.

As a result, evaporative coolers increase the potential for mold growth, especially nearby the unit.

Not one to sit by your PC either lol.

i dont think they do much, certainly in terms of temperature... a fan at a decent speed will be just as good i think

Stick some ice in it and you're talking! But that takes alot of effort/energy to keep making ice and putting it in!
