There are loads of energy saving bulb offers but nearly all seem to be for the standard size bayonet or screw caps. Found these small screw bulbs at Tesco. £1 each or buy five for £1.
9 watt / 40 watt equivalent - last ten years.

They have now removed this offer on all but the 11w BC lamps

Tesco Orpington still had the offer label on the shelf for the 9w BC lamps, but on getting to the till, the offer was not there (they did let me have them for the price advertised, but I didn't get an apology for the inconvenience - miserable cow manager!

Nice find - there's usually no ses(small Edison screw) bulbs on offer.

Have some heat.

The exact reason I have just added some to my tesco online shopping order.

The cheapest I could get an energy saving light bulb today in Spain was nearly 5 euros, that's nearly £5!!!

Great deal.

I have been buying these energy saving bulbs for a while as it seems a no brainer given the cost saving and price. However, I was with a Chinese friend yesterday and he is importing LED bulbs in a big way. He has LED tube lights that I had never seen and he had GU10 bulbs up to 15 watts. He said that LED is the future and bulb manuacturers know this and that is why they are trying to clear the stock they have of these energy saving bulbs. Don't know how true it is but the LED bulbs he had were impressive and I would definitely shift to those if the price was right...

There is far better out there than these so called "eco" bulbs (start the debate), LED and others are now coming that will actually put out a good light.... fair price if you want some of these candle ligth bulbs though

I just checked out led bulbs on google..............10 watt output are around £6 each.............and brighter bulbs can be up to £35 each.................so i'm off to Tesco's...............

dimmer compatible?
#21
no tried them but still same strong normal light even after adjusting dimmer

B&Q locally are doing a 4 pack of GU10 LED lamps for about £12.50 which is a good price and probably would just about replace a 20W lamp (slightly dimmer than them probably), although the light is somewhat blue compared to the yellow halogen.
However £3 per lamp is a good price, made by Ring and are 1.3W on a 20LED so works for me.

Tesco Orpington now have some of them for 3 for £1 so this offer seems to have been removed totally - needs expiring...
