Probably more expensive because of the brexit decision. Wait until the UK does leave the EU (if it does) and see prices of everything go berserk.

Samsung Galaxy Gold S7 Edge Refurbished @ Smartphone Company upfront £179.99 + £19/M total cost £636.00

I've got the S6 edge and honestly think it's a waste of money. Just get the regular S7. There's nothing useful to have the Edge other than looking nicer.
Not to mention the problems getting a screen protector etc..

Couldn't agree more. Stupidest decision I've ever made.
Received the phone today and very pleased. The phone is in excellent cosmetic condition, really is "as new".

Also original packaging, all accessories look unused. Happy chap.
A brief check on CPW shows £549, ridiculous.

I'm looking to upgrade from my iPhone 6 and fancy going back to Android and to also try something larger. I was waiting for the iPhone 7 but don't want to be paying £40+ per month so the S7 edge looks like a good option.
Can anyone show me a better deal without going sim free and buying the phone outright? I'm worried about all the cold votes, I thought the edge was highly rated on here.

Curious if anyone failed the credit check for this? Both me and the missus failed last week, even though we both have 'excellent' credit ratings according to paid for and free credit reports. I have read various posts online reporting that they've struggled with getting contract phones from The Smartphone Company and Mobilephones Direct.

We have had the same through MPD, although it is TalkMobile that carry out the credit check and ultimately decide whether to accept you or not. Did you get this resolved?
TalkMobile refuse to give any information apart from directing me to look at my Experian credit report (which is excellent) and Experian just say they just supply the information, so can't help out either. Quite frustrating!
says on the sticky cover on the screen sim x2 so looks like dual sim. not turned on as yet. same size as my lg g4.
Mine is being delivered today so can report back later. Ordered from Mobilephones Direct, £9.50 per month after cashback.

For comparison, a sim only plan with 12GB of data on Three would be £17 with 200 mins (£408 over 24mths) or £22 with 600mins (£528 over 24mths).

Well Three currently have the six months half price line rental on 12 months sim only, so 600mins would be £462 over 24 months even assuming no offer for the other 12 months, though it's likely you'd get something offered. And 200mins, £357.

Make sure the serial number starts with 510 or higher. If it's a 509, 508, 507 or a 506 give them it back as you may just find yourself needing a new motherboard some point in the future.
I had my phone for a couple of months and the screen started to go funny. Weird lines appeared. I'm on contract with Virgin Media so they took it in for repairs and returned it back to me. Turns out they replaced the motherboard. Appears to be a common fault with people who had got the phone early on near the release date. Saying that, the phone has been fantastic apart from that issue.

Randomly I've had email to say I've been referred on the credit check, could take 2 days for a.decision.

I'm a Payg customer of Talkmobile already and I have never been referred or declined a mobile contract in 25 years.

So unsurprisingly I passed the credit check.

The £10pm with cashback to make it £4 is a better deal.

It has 3000mins 5000texts and 2GB data.

Tbh I won't use much of the data as I have a dual sim phone and this is sim is good value for the calls and texts.

I have an EE sim for data and only use about 800MB a month anyway as my world is mostly WiFi.

Update for anyone who went for this and is wondering when to expect it, spoke to mobile phones direct they said that their shipment is due in on the 13th may so will be sent out after that. @tommysimpson24 I've ordered and spoke to them direct all seems good
Has this worked for anyone? Obviously the phone is not out yet. however the deal seems to good to be true?
I'm 9 months through an EE 12 month sim-only contract. It's £28.99 per month, but £7.99 after redemption. The contract was purchased via MobilePhonesDirect, and the redemption process could not be easier. If there's ever been any problems, the agents at MPD are very helpful.

Very tempted by this, although another redemption sim-only deal alongside buying the phone outright (with the 10% off code from HTC) is actually very closely matched on price.

Vodafone are a terrible network and have very untrustworthy customer service. You have been warned.
The network is great, the customer service can leave a lot to be desired but I don't know how that differs from Three or EE who are also both terrible?
EE gives me 80Mb/30Mb 4G in the little town I live in. Best network provider I've ever used.
Same, no comparison here either - I live out in the sticks and have had up to 100mb/30mb.
Network coverage and speed is not the same as customer service.
No, it is far more important....it's what I'm paying for. High speed data and reliability come top for me, not customer service. Other than a tweet once or twice, which was replied to fairly quickly, I don't think I've ever had to contact EE customer support.

Yup and that is great news. However my comment was that customer service from all networks is often terrible, I only mentioned that Vodafone had a reasonable network, have not mentioned EE at all. I am also with EE but I do not get the speeds you mention in my area at the moment, however they are perfectly reasonable. Not as good as Voda, but muhc better than 3 or O2

Now this is a great deal. Link is direct but to get the quidco you'll need to follow the usual method. Auto cashback is paid in 90 days. On a train from Florida to NY right now so if someone can edit
