I'm more of a Tea drinker. Could one of these be used to make Tea and keep it hot in the pot on the hot plate?

No reason why you couldn't put leaf tea in the basket and brew it that way, I'm sure.

I bought one of these for the office about six months ago and it's still going strong. For the price of a couple of Cappucinos at Starbucks you get an entire coffee machine (although the coffee doesn't taste quite as good!).

Bargain.

Handy for someone selling the house- fresh coffee smells and all that!

forgive my ignorance but can you make coffee at the push of a button by just adding water ? does it already have powdered milk /sugar/ coffee inside?

I wouldn't recommend that you brew tea in this machine as coffee makers never heat the water to boiling. Boiling water, which is essential for a good cuppa tea, actually scalds coffee making it bitter and as such coffee should be made with water just off the boil. However as long as the machine has a hot plate you could put your tea bags/leaves in the glass pot pour boiling water from the kettle on them and keep your tea toasty with the hot plate..

whatever you're using this for it's hot.

These machines have a compartment for your ground coffee (bought seperately) and a water container which you fill up before you start the machine. The water is then heated internally and passed through the coffee which drains into the jug that rests on the hot plate. There is no powdered milk or sugar. the coffee this machine produces is the equivalent of what you would get if you asked for an Americano in a coffee shop, plain black coffee.

Bought one of these as a temporary solution to one costing £60 that broke within days. Still making great coffee............

Great deal! Last time I was looking for something like this for work the cheapest I could find cost over £20.

I got this a year ago for about a tenner, it works fine but not the hottest cuppa coffee,I'll try the tea trick, thanks.
Hot price.

No...... Tea needs to be freshly made with boiling water to taste good. This will just 'stew' the tea and it will have a very strong tannin flavour.

I bought one of these from Asda for £5.26 9 months ago. These cheap nasty coffee makers are widely available for these sort of prices. They are ****. (If you actually like nice coffee) The first 3 weeks we used it the coffee tatsed so strongly of plastic that every cup was ruined. Really disgusting. Asda refunded the money as even the lady at the desk could not beleive the stench.

Maybe you got one from a bad batch? Or maybe it's a different machine to the one they were selling 9 months ago. Either way I got one of these just before Christmas on a whim and as someone who's used to drinking good coffee that's exactly what this machine delivers. Perfect temperature, perfect rate of flow. No timer, but I prefer to make fresh anyway, a night in a small plastic container can't do water or coffee any good...

Do they have these in store?

Sounded like a brilliant bargain then noticed the delivery is the same price as the coffee machine, making it still a bargain but not brilliant.

I bought one of these in my Local ASDA just before Christmas when they were £5.97. Saw them in there today at the new lower price. Awesome machine for the price!! Well recommended.

does the job, makes the right noises and best of all....lots of coffee

i bought one of these about 3 weeks ago and to be fair it makes lovely coffee but that also depends on what type of coffee you use heat added :-D

Deals like this make you question why places like starbucks are so bloody popular. With this coffee filter and a £1 pack of coffe you can have tons of coffee for the equivalent price of about 3 cups in a starbucks. Tis madness.
