think its been this price for a while now..good post anyways

It's 9p for a good reason! Better off buying the bulk (3Kg?) bags that Asda do rather than this cheap version. Some things are not worth cutting corners on.

Actually some studies suggest that eating a bit of dirt is in fact good for you!

this pasta isn't the best, but if you cook it in with chicken & tomato cook-in sauce (or 5p curry sauce), it's fine.
#11
Its only 6p at morrinsons x
#12
been this price for a while, no deal really imo
#13
Same price @ Sainsburys. Most of the supermarket own brand budget lines appear to be similar priced and probably from the same supplier.
#14
now that's a smart price for a bag of base pasta which you can then sex up well...like in a tuna cheese bake...with the curry sauce...of course

i use this pasta all the time its nice

I picked up a packet and it didn't look to appetising so it went back to the shelf.

netto/lidl have decent pasta at around 50p. Iceland has the napolina brand for 75p which is far cheaper than the other big supermarkets.

Suckered into buying with your eyes and not the taste.

Yeah...Uncooked raw hard pasta in packs doesn't look too appetising does it ?

Wow, talk about polarized opinions on the site. I see what people say about pot noodles etc.. and Asian cultures having noodles which are similar to pasta, but I still wouldn't buy smartprice pasta and mix with smartprice curry. Might be good for chip shop chips though...

all this pasta talk...getting some on the boil ( penne for those interested - and wotever brand it is thats in the cupboard for that matter ) now...gonna just toss in butter with some parsley - that is all - just to satisfy the craving...

...now someone post a whisky deal lol

I bet the people who talk this pasta down have not even tried it (and probably own an iPad). The feedback from people who use it is fine. Heat.

I threw it away. In my opinion, the taste - but particularly the texture - are significantly worse than the proper pasta you can get. When you can get 3kg bags for £2.90, I don't really think it's worth skimping that much for a small saving.

If you, or anyone else, likes it though, good for you. And I'm not an iPad owner for the person above - is there really a correlation between a dislike of smart price pasta and overpriced Apple product ownership? I'm generally not fussy with food - I eat a lot of other smart price stuff - and I don't care what the brand of pasta is as long as it isn't this one.

Lol I do love these smart price threads

The standard price for this is 9p in Tesco, has been for weeks, they seem to have lowered it permanently to match when Asda has this price before.

I've tried it and I think it's OK, would buy it, but I prefer Tesco's at the same price. There's a difference in the cheap pasta between supermarkets. And obviously none are as good as more expensive pasta, but for a fifth of the price, I don't think it's so bad (at least the tesco pasta isn't). The value/smartprice pasta sauce is a different story.

3kg of smartprice pasta would be 54p, I think it's worth it.

Nothing wrong with this pasta at all, use it all the time. Great price

I love that people pay 9p for this then buy a £2 pasta sauce..........

As for smart price curry sauce and pasta then that's just wrong! I'd rather pay a bit extra and get some decent stuff!

I didn't realise that you could get pasta this cheap. I normally set a £1/kilo acceptable price in my head. Even is this doesn't taste great, you could use it to bulk up some more expensive pasta. That's what I do with rice. Use the good stuff for when I want a tasty meal or mix cheap and good for my work lunches. At work I eat so quickly that I don't notice the difference. I have the same with coffee too. Cheap stuff at work as I don't take the time to appreciate it like I would at home!
