Smirnoff Blue label Vodka £13.53 Litre at Sainsbury's, 45% proof !

You seem to be mixing your units: this is probably 45% ABV [i.e. 45% of the liquid is, in fact, ethanol].

“Proof” is a measure now only really used in the US: a drink that is 45o proof would be “only” 22.5% ABV – more akin to a port than vodka.

Good price, though…..:whistling::whistling:

I think my weekend ahead just got a little merrier!

Yukk. I don't get alcohol. It tastes bitter, makes me ill and mucks up my system. I have very little tolerance to the damn stuff. Plus it makes the muscles sag, skin go all messed up and ages people fast. Why do folks bother with it? Oh well if its your thing, its your thing. Here you go you drunks. Heat.

Was this previously 50% back in't'day

My opinion is that your presence is very much unwanted. Don't like it, deal with it, and shut up.

Thank you for taking the time to hold an opinion of me. I have none of you and wouldn't care if you died right now. Sorry.

Anyhow, forgetting about this thread, as you drunken fools are clearly too touchy, emotional, and well...."drunken fools" says it all. Bye bye and Happy liver rotting.

Man, you have to be the biggers looser I have come across on here so far! Well done!

Hot deal though, should make a few peoples weekend go with a bang!

And I'm sure that the Duty Free Blue Lable is still 50% and that the UK retail is only 45%. Could be wrong though.

Good price.

To add to the comments about alcohol content, Yep Blue Label Smirnoff was and can still be found at 50% (100 proof) elsewhere, it got dropped to 45% for the UK (I think maybe EU?), I am guessing to reduce the duty on it, and keep it on the shelves at a resonable price? Also Red label dropped from 40% to 37.5%.

You clearly do hold an opinion - you think those interested in this thread are "drunken fools".

Buying a drink doesnt commit you to overuse - you do understand that, right? It's called moderation.

You're pretending to not give a damn about other people/opinions in a lame attempt to look down on people, whereas the result here will be the majority looking down on you.

Just because your poor little system cant manage a little drink, doesnt mean the rest of us cant enjoy it. We're all different and, thankfully, not all like you.
#25
Yep, great stuff the blue label Smirnoff. I usually pick up a bottle or two every time I go duty free - works out at about a tenner each. So unless you can get a flight for £3.53, this is a great price! :-)

Are you on drugs instead then?

This stuff is pretty deadly. Got it a few times at university, and always ended up getting very drunk on a small amount. The extra 7% over regular makes a big difference.
Probably suits the alcoholics, as its got a good £:unit ratio.
