Not quite sure what to make of this - misprice perhaps?

Listed as a Region 1 US & CAN title.

Double bill of gangster films. 'Smokin' Aces' (2007) is a lighthearted mob drama that follows a Vegas funnyman who turns snitch against some heavyweight mobsters and needs protecting. Buddy 'Sarah Aces' Israel (Jeremy Piven) is a comedic Vegas magician who has informed on an important mobster. The call goes in from the mobster that a million bucks goes to anyone who cuts Buddy's heart out and the FBI intercept the call. Aces is put under the protection of agents Carruthers and Messner (Ray Liotta and Ryan Reynolds) who squirrel the magician away in his own Tahoe retreat. Pretty soon there ain't a hotel room to be had in Tahoe as a parade of hit men, bounty hunters and, generally, a rogues' gallery of miscreants descend, locked in the chase to be the one to off the corrupt conjurer. In 'Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels' (1998), after losing all their money to London crime boss Hatchet Harry (P.H. Moriarty) in a card game, twentysomething friends Eddy (Nick Moran), Tom (Jason Flemyng), Soap (Dexter Fletcher) and Bacon (Jason Statham) decide to steal from their drug-dealing neighbour, Dog. Using guns stolen from burglars in the employ of Harry, the quartet carry out their heist, leaving their money at Eddy's. However, as they set about disposing of the evidence, they are unaware that there is more to their firearms than they thought...

Just thought I would add that I'm personally not going to order this as I can't see that the checkout process is currently SSL.
#2
what is ssl?

Sorry - what I mean is that the checkout doesn't seem to be within a 'secure server' environment.

you pay using paynova which is a secure payment method
#5
but it says on the right side of the web page that its verified by "Trust Uk" and "Safebuy Assured" are those not of any use?

Go to the checkout screen where you enter your details and see for yourself whether it's secure - I don't think it is ;-)

Thats really odd. He is correct. I think the Nova payment is embedded so it may be secure but the login certainly is not.

CD-Wow dodgy? Surely not ;-)

Just tried it with an old CD-Wow voucher I had and got it for free - so no need to put in any credit card details!
Lock Stock is a great film and Smokin Aces is decent enough. It'll do for a Xmas pressie for someone.

Voted hot!

I'm not risking it.

Would be good though. Christmas day, the whole family have dvd sized presents. They unwrap to see that I'm a tight sod who obviously got a job lot of the same film! :giggle:

I'm hoping my free Bourne books turn up so they have a bumper Christmas this year.

They do say it's the thought that counts.

Back to the post though, not worth the risk!

i may be a bit dull but does region 1 play in our dvd players ?
#14
I've contacted CD-WOW to ask why the site is no longer secure(SSL). It's not usually like that???

nikkit72: You need a multi-region dvd player to play region 1 dvds on a uk player (designed for region 2). Most players you can turn on multi-region with a code. Try www.videohelp.com and click on DVD Hacks on left hand side.

Not unless your dvd player is multi-region (UK=region 2)
#16
This is bit that worries me. Good call on using the voucher - no payment details = no risk :-D

Most players have region hacks these days You need to be connected with an RGB scart as a bare minimum though, otherwise it'll be displayed in black and white.
