Great price for a Disney Blu-ray - less than anything I've seen

As far as I'm aware this is the best price from a company I've heard of - i.e. HWV, Amazon etc - hence why I posted it

Any idea if its the same price in-store as I've got a £2 off blu-ray voucher for in-store use only? Thanks for posting, good price.

This was £1.93 on blu at Blockbuster a while ago for a clearance type sale. I passed on it oddly, bought 23 different titles instead. Excellent day.

Yeah, i'd been reading about Terry Gillaim and he mentioned it so I considered buying just to reference the interview but couldn't watch it again.

A question, is this in wide screen? i didn't think it could be made in wide screen as it was not filmed in wide screen

No. It's in the original 4:3. All films made at this time were 4:3. You have the option of the black bars at the sides being replaced by painted scrolls that change throughout the movie and are empathetic to the scene being shown. It works better than it sounds!!! It feels rather like the pillars at each side of a stage. This is called Disney View. If the film was made widescreen, it would have to be stretched or have cut-offs. Both rather defeat the fidelity of Hi-Definition.

Voted Hot by the way. I paid £16.88 from Amazon.

Some clowns probably voted before opening their eyes and seeing that it is blu ray :)

I spent £16 on this not so long ago, but it was the Blu-Ray+dvd combi

hope its worth something in the future as they are apparently going to be deleted titles.. just like pinocchio and cinderella. Cant wait for toy story and finding nemo

Can't really see the point of this type of limited colour animation on blu ray, especially 4:3

They went back to the original master rather than the previous digital remaster and took advantage of the latest technology to give a much better product. The colours and sound are a noticeable improvement on the last dvd release. I'm not the biggest fan of the movie (my kids are) but there is no doubt, this is an upgrade on the previous release and of course, the picture is sharper. I would venture to say that despite being an old movie, it's a more worthwhile transfer than some much more recent movies where they appear to be exactly the same print as the original dvd release, but put on to blu-ray with little or no upgrade whatsoever.

They can't really help the 4:3. It was all there was in 1937.

Disney's newly enhanced restoration of this classic has truly given it new life. Colors are so bright and vibrant you would think this had been animated yesterday. I strained to find any type of errant noise or dust flecks, but came up empty (there are a few minor flecks during the beginning credits, but that's easy to let slide)

Disney's preservation efforts have made the film look pristine and new. 1080p/AVC-encoded transfer of 'Snow White' is a technological marvel.

No, they posted a offer booklet to me a few days back and that was one of the offers - "£2 off any blu-ray to buy" - I've ordered from the web store anyway, cheers!

50 year old movie, about 50p's worth of materials? for £12.

I don't doubt the quality might be good, but this IS still too much.

What does the age of a movie have to do with it? This film is a classic...

No we don't, the £2 voucher the previous poster was referring to was one they got in the mail that got sent out to selected customers earlier this week, my mum got the same one so I'll be using the £2 off to get Zombieland for £12.99 when it comes out, it's gonna be £14.99 for a week only and us staff aren't allowed discount, nothing against using a voucher though, score!
