Remember the 80s? then remember SODASTREAM lol...

I dont think this needs much introduction but for those that dont know, this little machine will carbonate water to which you can add flavoured syrup to make litres of fizzy drinks.

This appears to have been resurficed and you can pick up a white Genesis machine for £29.99 or the aluminium PURE version for 49.99.

This is the cheapest I have seen. Drinks and gas canisters only seem available at www.sodastream.co.uk.

They had the Genesis for £9.99 and Pure for (IIRC) £29.99 a while back but for some reason (don't ask me what!) I didn't get myself one.

Easier to buy carbonated water at tesco 10p for 2 litres and add your syrup/squash etc to that.

Didn't Heston Blumethal make Blue Nun into champagne with one of these?

dont understand how this has gone negative!!!
Understand the comments about buying fizzy water etc but if someone is looking for one of these then this IS the cheapest around... usually > £60 for the genesis and >65 for the pure at least!!

They were crap 20+ years ago, then the stuff (gas refills, syrups accessories etc) was easily available in supermarkets, and then most commercial soft drinks were generally more expensive in real terms then than they are now; so now they aren't easy to get, & more expensive too so they are expensive inconvenient crap now. :-(
