These are great however once you have been using it for a while you have to remember that other toilets do not have the soft close facility.

I have slammed so many loos seats down. One of these days the toilet will break! :(

I've done that too, nearly broke my SIL toilet cos I forgot she didn't have one, lol.

Would definitely recommend though and great price

Cold. REAL men never put the lid down.
Actually, REAL men don't even lift the seat up to start with...

This thread is going down the pan

ha same here. Both me and my wife do it round each other's in laws houses. Forcing the seat down faster than the damper so its closed ready to flush is usually is the cause. Just lightly move it and wait the 5 seconds more.
#12
Went through 3 of these in the space of a week, absolute crap, literally. The break so easily its unreal.
#13
These are great, although I think the ones that we have were a few quid more that this. Handy for the kids to use, no slamming of the seat.

Never mind all that, why do women always leave the seat down..........really inconsiderate of them if you ask me:whistling:.

Will this seat still be comfy after sitting on it for the usual 30 or so minutes?

Good backdraft of local deals emerging

shutting the lid doesn't make much difference, there's still a gap between the lid, seat and toilet so the "spray" will still get out,
Still a good deal H&R to OP

This is very true...

I bought two posh ones, (upstairs & downstairs) they have a 5 year mechanism guarantee - a far superior product, worth spending the money... They are Haro ones from Plumbworld (£45 each) and allow you to take the seat and lid off (when upright) so you can give the loo a really good clean!

cant you take all toilet lid seats off? seems a bit pointless paying £45 so that you can take a toilet seat off when you can take all toilet seats off

Ahh but this is the 'quick release' of loo seats, it just lifts off! Most will be ground up tight with the nylon nut underneath the bowl and do not readily come off. More importantly tho the softclose mechanism is far superior to cheaper seats, and comes with a 5 year guarantee.

Of course it makes a difference, the amount of spray escaping from the lid closed will be negligible compared to it being left open:roll:
