Good little prank for only £1.85, Might be worth getting a couple in case they get stamped on ;-)

- No batteries required
- When the sun shines on the solar panel, the panel makes electricity
- Will also work when close to a strong artificial light source
- A fun demonstration of solar power

Could be a laugh.

Wonder if it would survive being stomped on.

The reviews seem fair to me for what it is.

Great product... I have ordered 2 pieces for more fun :)

I bought one of these a while back for a bit of fun. bUt I found it only works if you put it really close (almost touching) a light bulb. I had it on the window sill in direct sunlight for days and it did show any sign of life. May have just been a duff one... but thought 'd let you know! By the way, Dealextreme is an AWESOME site!

How do you know these are solar powered - I think they are probably real cockroaches. Make a nice pet - WallE really changed the public perception of these much misunderstood loyal and affectionate creatures.

At least check your facts before you comment

I too bought 2 of these for some fun. I was also disappointed. :x Both of mine need to be next to the light bulb to work. One vibrates better than the other. To date my worst bit of tat bought. It hasn't put me off. I wouldn't buy one of these but will shop there again.

Looks like a cultural issue - Chinese manufacturer assumes that as it works fine in the local sunshine that they can export it to the UK - without first visiting here and discovering we only get 3 days a year when the sun is strong enough...

I agree. But hey for 3 days a year it was worth it.
