just for clarity, the title says 'take away wrapping and old stuff too' Just read through the delivery details and they only take away the wrapping.

Just returned Silentnight Miracoil mattress (thanks, Costco) because (i) it was too damn firm, and (ii) being Miracoil and not Mirapocket, the springs creak and groan against each other. I would strongly recommend trying one of these mattresses in a showroom before committing to buying one. This can be difficult, though, because Silentnight have different names for similar mattresses sold through different channels.

added the code, just bought one for £107

thanks. been putting off buying a new one for awhile
#24
OK price. But once you go down the pocket sprung route you can never return to coil springs

Just cos it's cheap don't mean it's any good.

Thank you for sharing this - just bought two single mattresses for my children for £198... saves them arguing over who has the best bed!

Miracoil is the worst mattress I ever bought. When one person moves everything moves, had it for 5 weeks and sent it to the tip, now I have a pocket spring one and its the best thing ever.

That's basically what I said earlier.

I've replaced all our mattresses with pocket sprung ones. Can't believe I didn't do it years ago.

And definitely less aches & pains when waking up

costco have one miracoil listed and its an orthopaedic tufted & advertised as FIRM so you got what you ordered as for squeak it was faulty as the ones I butt tested did not squeak. still going ahead as its a totally different mattress and has 60day trial.

two pocket sprung return in last two months both way too soft and advertised as medium-firm (not silentnight) both crunching popping springs when rolling (14stone), one sagged on first night, its put me off pocket sprung well the ones in my price range anyway.
what I mean is pocket sprung does not gaurentee a good mattress and miracoil is tried and tested and many many years old and in-house designed and produced where as most pocket spring cores come flat rolled from china.

that's faulty its main selling point is no roll together it behaves similar too pocket springs, plus this one has memory cushion top which isolates movement anyway and reduces pressure points.
as for tipping what a waste of money, should have contacted silentnight they would have collected and replaced as the spring core was faulty.

and? does not mean its bad either does it? nor does expensive mean its going to be great, order or don't its just here to share we will see if its good or not and for some its going to be the best they can afford or justify spending, some have to make do.
others at these prices tend to be spring bags, bonnel springs and cheaply done which bad cover and padding or wanna bee pocket sprung that has less support than a woopie cushion or a hot sweaty all foam done cheap with no cooling or air gap layers.

I suggest if you are 14 stones than FIRM would be the way to go

maybe but will try this as medium-firm has always been suitable at this weight, had a bad car accident years ago and since then firm ones give me back pain and numb back. as does overly soft sink in types.

Fair enough. Ultimately the best mattress is one that suits you. I tried mine in store before buying online...bought the others solely off online reviews... and kids absolutely love theirs

just asked its 1 inch deep memory foam plus other layers.

its miracoil spring is apparently a new version that is a mix of miracoil 3 and miracoil 7 that's the most I could dig out of the rep.
