Not quite accurate.

I just went, looking for the previous one's posted, and found these, got 4 packs, came to 60p
#2
If you buy two packs you pay £1.02 in total, still good for 6 Solero's though.
#3
Yes I can confirm it works - I've just bought 4 packs for £1.04.

I didn't quite understand how it works until I was leaving ASDA and checked my receipt - let me explain:

There is a "2 for £3" or "4 for £5" deal from the manufacturers printed on the Solero pack.

The usual price for these is £1.99 each - so for 2 packs ASDA take off 98 pence (usual price - £3.98, take off 98 pence for the "2 for £3" deal). And, for 4 packs ASDA take off £2.96 (usual price - £7.96, take off £2.96 for the "4 for £5" deal).

Then ASDA have decided to sell the Soleros for £1 for each pack but are still applying the original deal. So, for 4 packs the cost drops to £4 and they still take off £2.96 - giving us £1.04 or 26 pence per pack.

I'd suggest you get down to ASDA before they notice + make sure you go for the right ones at £1 each with the "2 for £3" or "4 for £5" printed on them.

I think if you buy 5 this will give you the best discount.
It seemed to when buying the Nestle lollies.
#5
can anyone please confirm with 5 packets?

I would suggest that they already know about it LOL
Loss leader, with Xmas shopping approaching, anyone? That's my take on it.
I'll pop into town today and take advantage of it though

right just been to asda and the best deal is 4 packs for £1.04p tried a couple of combinations.. just rember to go through with 4 at a time as 8 packs comes in at £4.05p:?
#8
Yup, 4 for £1.04!

(Whats the betting that my children won't like the flavour and they will take up space in my feezer instead of ASDA's?):giggle:

When I did it I scanned a pack of Magnums first (cos the missus doesnt like Solero) and then started scanning the soleros and noticed them going in at 1p each. The missus thought it was highly amusing watching them scan in at 1p!!! The 5th solero went in at a £1 so dont think 5 is any better.

Unless adding the Magnums screwed things up?

Anyway my receipt showed a £3.95 ice cream discount for 5 packs of solero, a pack of magnum and a pack of Calippo.

Thanks nufc21_2 - Heat and Rep added.
Works at Chandlers Ford store, with loads left on the shelf.
#11
Worked for me too, but very few of the "2 for £3" or "4 for £5" Promotion labelled packs left on the shelf, had to search at right at the back.
I guess this wouldn't work with the newer packs.
#12
So is magnums price screwed up as well?

Hmmmmmmagnums!!

Also note that the packs don't have to be flashed '2 for 3' or '4 for 5', I got 4 for£1.04 and no flashing on the packs.
#13
This is one great deal, Soleros are a steal :giggle:

Also tried with 4 pack of Magnums - you get 2.96 multibuy savings as with the Soleros, so for example 4 packs of Almond Magnums works out 4.20, still a good deal

Thanks!!!
#14
doesn't work on Nestle Crunch though, even though they're on the 4 for £5 promo and reduced to by Asda to 50p (from £1.76) each!. Still £2 for 4 packs is good price.

Nestle Crunch Ice Cream or Chocolate Bars?

After reading DeusEx's explanation above I've had an idea.....if no-one else tries it out tonight I'll try it tomorrow.

I wonder if all the Walls products are on this '2 for 3' or '4 for 5' offer.

Try this on the 'scan yourself' machines so you can see what's happening before you pay. Put through a Solero first then a second and third Solero then lastly a Magnum and see what the final price is. Then the same again but with two Magnums at the end and one less Solero.

I suspect what'll happen is that for the first setup you'll pay £2.03 and for the second one £3.02. However it's possible that the system is wrongly programmed and will set all the items to the first price (i.e. £1) and then deduct the £2.96 making the total £1.04 even with the Magnums......Worth a try...but it's a total scam!!

Lollies in the winter... no thanks

I bought 2 packs of these this afternoon. They were marked up at 50p per pack. Although they had the 2 for £3 offer on the packet they went through the till at 50p per pack but no additional discount.

OK Folks

All the Walls products are in the same promo.....so

Do this.

Put the solero through first (I think this makes a difference....but not sure why), then a second solero...then a magnum (any of the flavours) - So that's three items in total.

You should end up paying £1.03.

What seems to be happening is that the Soleros's get charged at £1 each, then the Magnum at £1.99 then you get your £2.96 credit back so £3.99 less £2.96 = £1.03.

Worked this morning.

Have fun.

I think Asda has sorted this particular glitch (they certainly have in my store) but the Solero glitch still works. Buy 4 packs and pay a net £1.04 for them. That's 12 Soleros for £1.04. Bargain.
#22
My Asda had loads last night. Solero Exotic and Smoothie Strawberry & Banana were reduced to £1 a box and the Smoothie Blackberry & Banana to 89p. 4 boxes of the Blackberry and Banana came in at 60p.
#23
Just bought 4 packs of Solero Exotic for £1.04 in Longwell Green, Bristol.

Bargain!
#24
I used to work for Asda, and why it will work in some stores and not others is this:

The 2 for £3 etc printed on the box is a head office promotion. If the store reduces the price of an item then they should override all other promotions on their systems, manually in store,on their computer.Obviously some are on the ball(bad for HUKDers:-( ) and others are not(good for HUKDers:thumbsup: )
#25
Bizarrely our local Asda (Trowbridge) now has a huge sign on an end aisle advertising these as 5 boxes for £1.05, they had hundreds of boxes left when I went in there last night, I only bought 5 boxes as I have no more room in my freezer.
#26
Just tried the 4 for £1.04 again and was charged £1 each, so maybe they have cottened on. And yes they were the special packs.
#27
I tried also at Asda in leeds and no discount was applied looks like its over
#28
yes, over now.. tried in lower early today
