i bought my son the single bedroom set in scandinivan pine from argos and it lasted about a year. the wood is very thin and not very strong. the wardrobe and bed side cabinet lasted about an extra 6 months, cheap though so what you pay but i wouldnt buy anything from that range again :(

I can back that up. But you can strengthen/stiffen it up with some nails and some wooden runners as opposed to the crappy plastic ones you get. I've had a few pieces from this range in the spare room for years.

they can't even get the door knobs to be aligned for the photo!

Avoid Argos cheap crap.
I bought a chest of drawers supposedly reduced from £200 to £100, fell apart in 6 months!

I've bought a number of items in this range over the years, and they've always been fine?? The only problem i've had was stuck drawers, but a bit of shaving/sanding soon sorted that?
As for plastic runners, the sets of drawers i bought last year came with wooden ones so i suspect they've realised and updated the design.

It is possible to make these things work if you are on a budget.

Just put it together using plenty of wood glue and tacks, especially on the drawer bottoms and backs. Then it won't fall apart.
