Real Wood No ?
are these wood?

Although I'm a carpet-man myself, this is a very good find.

How much floor space does 1 pack cover?

It's not very helpful, working out how many you need.

It says 11cm height, so this is the depth of the pack size?

cold from me not real wood. missleading

How do you get £24.75? Original price was £67.50, now £33.75. You'd have to buy two packs for the voucher to qualify, which would pack the pack cost £29.25?

Also I presume you can only use the voucher once so if you want to buy more than two packs the savings will be much lower. That said it's still seem a good price for real wood laminate, depending on the area each pack covers.

It's certainly not solid wood as the title suggests, but it is a real wood laminate.
#10
how can u get real wood laminate? Reall Wood is really wood lol
nothing else , or its simply not really wood? or am i missing something?
#11
laminate is the process of bonding different layers of either the same or different materials - so you can have real wood laminate.

calling it solid wood when it is laminated wood may be a little missleading....

cold, you can get real oak flooring cheaper than this.

Where would this be? Link would be great :) Thanks

that is quite confusing, Tesco is advertising them as solid wood so the OP's title is correct, under the descriptions it says its laminate but looking at the photo I would be surprised if it is as the whole thickness of the plank is uniform in colour and laminate usually has a cheap chipboard/fiberboard underside which is a lot lighter than walnut. Also the origianl price is silly for laminate.. this could be an "engineered" board which is similar to laminate but with 3~4mm of solid wood as the top layer, which makes it as good to the eye and allows resanding after accidents, but is more stable with underfloor heating....

Carpenters of York have offeres every now and again on Walnut, not cheap but I have heard good things about them and they do samples so you can be sure of what you order. http://www.carpentersofyork.com/cgi-bin/carpo.cgi?Command=ShowFloorProduct&db_fpid=2296 is American Black Walnut solid wood floor in satin lacquer 110mm x 18mm £48.68 not quite the same price but if Tesco is selling laminate at 33, 48 for the real deal is a steal (it is actually a good price, 60~70 is usual for walnut i think)

Try www.directflooring.co.uk. Solid oak flooring starts at 19.99 per sq m (15mm solid wood). Just got back in the house from a visit there and there flooring looks to be great quality, they do thicker boards as well if thats what you are after although expect to pay a bit more.

From the description in the OP post 'Can Be Refinished No'
I take that to mean it cannot be re-sanded in future.
I disagree when you say "uniform in colour" as I can see a few mill of a darker layer at the top of the 'wood' which would suggest that your second sentence quoted above is correct and the description 'Can Be Refinished - No' is wrong.

Its engineered wooden flooring, more stable (less susceptable to cupping) than sold wood, but you cannot sand it back and refinish.

You can buy solid wood off ebay for a similar price just make sure it acclimatises for a month in the house.

Find it hard to believe that laminate would have cost £67.50 in the 1st place, when you can buy real solid wood flooring from the likes of B&Q for under £20.

Why would laminated be so expensive?
#20
They look good on the floor but bloody **** during winter - cold as the arctic!
#21
Great Price - Pointless post, it would be fine if it was 24.75 per pack but you can only get that on one pack using a voucher, otherwise £33.75 per pack.
Anyway out of stock now

Though we don't actually know what the area covered by one pack is, so not really possible to make comparisons just yet.

..yup, point taken, though merely pointing out that solid oak (extra thick boards) wide, are available at the same price of this laminate p.s.m.
Laminate boards also contain lots of nasties from MDF production which are hazardous to health, you may eventually find yourself having your flooring reclassified as hazardous waste material in the next few years! ..making it less of a bargain.
